Best magic Templar race for damage and healing?

I'm trying to decide on the best race for magic Templar damage and healing. Do Templars do flame damage? Do the High Elf and Dark Elf elemental damage buffs benefit Templars in any way?

I personally use breton for healing. Can't comment on dps.

I hear argonian is good too.

Do Templars benefit from the Altmers flame damage bonus for their racial passive? This is the question no one ever answers.

Templars only have one skill that does fire damage in the dawn's wrath tree and it is a dot. But if you want to dps, you will probably want an inferno staff so yeah, magplars dps benefit from their passives

Well I'm not a mathmetician but I noticed I did a lot more damage on a dunmer after transitioning from an altmer.

Templars only have one skill that does fire damage in the dawn's wrath tree and it is a dot. But if you want to dps, you will probably want an inferno staff so yeah, magplars dps benefit from their passives

True but if you're gonna be magicka then you're gonna use a lot of fire.

Whatever you noticed was a 3% more damage on fire skills only which is a small part of the templar damage, so it cant be that much more.

Not to meantion altmer have better sustain without having to be a vampire and take 25% more fire damage

If you are going to dps and heal then it would be best to go altmer. However dunmer does the most dps for magicka Templar as some 40% of your damage will be flame. Pure damage, dunmer is best.

For healing, altmer and breton are both better.

I'd say altmer is the best overall, if you don't mind giving up some dps for having more sustain as a healer.

For pvp, altmer hands down, breton is second choice imo

IMO: Breton is the best for Healing, Dunmer is the best for damage, Altmer is the best combo if you want to do both.

If you want to let the role drive your race, then I'd recommend Altmer for a balanced healing dps build.

That said, my magplar healer is Bosmer because that is just who she is and how she was born. She may be the shortest healer on the battlefield but she's darn good at what she does. Race has an effect but it hardly critical.

For both damage dealing and healing:

High Elf for high sustain ans some bonus to damage.

Dark Elf would be best for overall damage. (Fire is the only elemental damage a Templar does.

Breton would have the overall lowest damage of the three but has sustain.

It's Altmer, Breton isn't even second best . Altmer has the perfect combination.

Dunmer OP. Templars have one flame skill thatll benefit and that's vamp bane, which is very powerful. Other than that it's all magic damage. Being it's 1% difference on max magic between altmer, dunmer is still top. More fire more power. Recovery differences are neglible tbh. Once you're speccd up and vamped the difference is nothing that's going to ruin anything let alone notice.
