Any enchantment / poison will proc off light attacks, heavy attacks, and weapon skills that damage the enemy. For example if you use Rally and you have a flame glyph on your sword, it's obviously not gonna proc on you and set you on fire (even though that would be hilarious af)

I use glyphs of hardening to proc infernal guardian, I know exactly what you mean.
It does show an animation, it's just very easy to miss. When it procs, your character will be enveloped in a veil, similar to when you use blood craze. It kinda looks like they've been vacuum sealed in plastic.

Again, really subtle and easy to miss, but I can assure you, it is procing.

10s cooldown. Will proc on weapon attacks that make contact with an enemy only. You only get a minor shield though. Not worth it.
    PC Master Race

    1001CP
    8 Flawless Toons, all Classes.
    Master Angler
    Dro-M'artha Destroyer (at last)
    Tamriel Hero
    Grand Overlord
    Every Skyshard

This procs on Light attacks yes. And should proc on most weapon skills. You should be able to see some color change in your health bar. Like a purple tint at the edges of the health bar.

I'm not 100% sure, but i think the cooldown is 5 seconds, same as the duration of the enchant.

With infused trait / torug's pact set it can proc more often and stronger.

Some champion points in Bastion (The Lord) will make it stronger as well.

Exactly this, trying to proc infernal guardian with it, but in reality a glyph such as this should proc off 1 hand and shield skill defensive posture.

It's probably missed due to running defensive posture because that looks plastic.

With a 10sec cooldown is it even viable to proc infernal this way?

Lol on a magplar, nah, I could run blazing shield or something but I would have to drop entropy, then run spell damage pots and lose out on immovability, big mess

Yeah, bit touch on magplar. I use it on sorc since we use wards and crushing shock, so it procs alot, or on magblade for lightweaves with strife. Magplars main dps is a class skill tho, so gonna be hard yeah :/

Just a bit of Theary crafting here.

Prayer shawl set + a lot sources of small heals such as blood altar. should give you a bunch of smaller damage shields quite often. Maybe a fun combo :p haha

I've tried something similar with combat physician, it doesn't seem to proc infernal guardian. Same with the damage shield from ice staffs :(
