Initial loading screen is ridiculous

First off I want to say that I am returning to ESO after buying the digital imperial edition in 2014 and playing since it's inception. It was fun but lost its luster due to lack of content.

I have no interest in playing a game that takes over 5 minutes just to load before retrieving my character selection after logging into my account. Fix this, or I am leaving.. this time for good.

It took me 3 minutes from clicking the desktop icon to being in zone....

Are you on pc? In Task Manager try to make the executable a high priority and see if that helps. If this is your first time ever loading the game since you updated, maybe just be patient.

No it's not just him I have load times that let me jump right in and some that AFK kicks me no joke have had loading screens take 15 minutes and it's not rare for 5+ minutes.

Things have to load. and the map has to initiliaze. Obviously its not going to happen instataneously. It takes my PC about a minute max.

This happened to me when I first came back. It shouldn't keep doing that, unless perhaps the first time logging in after a big patch.

This would be reasonable if it was loading AFTER selecting my character. This is literally just bringing up my character selection.

That usually happens on the first login after a patch, before you reach the character selection screen. If you've patched a lot of updates because you've been away then it may take even longer than usual. It should settle down to normal thereafter.

Also, if this is your first time back since One Tamriel then make sure that you're logging in to the correct server as both are now accessible from the same installation.

Again, depending on how long you have been away the required specs have increased especially in respect of the need for a DX11 compliant graphics card. Memory will also have an impact on loading times, I imagine. What system specs do you have?

So you think thats is the one and only thing the game has to do to prepare itself. Obviously your wrong or it would load immidiatelly. Your PC must no tbe that great. It takes me a little over a minute to go from double clicking the game icon to being ingame.
