Best way to make extra walls and floors in houses?

I know you can use the planks of wood to make floating floors and walls, but they do look a bit rough. Does anyone have any examples of ways to make floors that look nicer? The crate lids work for a finer quality floor, but you need SO MANY of them to fill out a decent area.

Any ideas?

I use the orcish platform block. It's a bit chunky but at least it has a good finish.
Otherwise lay two rough planks on top of each other so that the planks of one over lap on the gaps of the other. It improves the look a bit.
Please ZOS, give us improved quality planks as an opton.

The only problem I have with the orcish platform is they look odd from underneath (at least on the PTS). The "walls" were invisible when looked at from under. Is that still the case?

One option is to use the planks and then put a rug over the top.

That's true, but then they still look a bit "meh" from underneath...

I can't for the life of me imagine why they didn't have Wall Sections available for crafting / purchase from the get go.

It was obvious to anyone with any familiarity of MMORPG housing systems that players would want to break up some of the larger spaces, interior and exterior, and that with such low item placement budgets this was going to lead to issues.

Another example of Zeni not really understanding how, or caring enough, to "do the job properly".

U could use the orcis block and turn it around so that it looks from underneath like it looks on the top

I'm thinking I might try to stack the two orcish platforms together, one upside down underneath and the other on top to make a flat "box" shape. I'll see if that works.

my only problem with orcish platforms is that they are so very thick. in smaller houses, it basically means that I'm loosing a LOT of space. if the bottom is not looking awesome - putting another carpet to float on the bottom as a sort of patterned ceiling is also an option :) especially with some of the dark elf carpets that are almost solid design/color and as such - resemble ceiling texture fairly well.

P.S. are you the youtube Icy, or no relation :P

They are craftable, so you can probably find them in guild stores either completed or as the pattern.

BUT I think I have found a good solution! The very large "bolted" paintings have a very nice warm coloured, wooden back, so pairs of them placed face to face as a floor works VERY WELL! ^_^ This should also work very nicely as internal walls as well.

Oh okay! What's the average price in Guild stores then? :p or what do I need to craft them

I've seen them for as little as 1500g if you shop around, but mostly in the 2000g range, both for the completed item and the recipe. I couldn't tell you offhand what is needed to craft them.
