VMA loot drops seem kind of one-sided...

I've been farming VMA for a couple months now whenever I have some free time, and in my particular case the game really only wants to drop me 1H/shields and resto staves. Out of all of my runs I have received every single 1H/shield trait for both the 1H and shield and every resto trait (and many duplicates). Yet this whole time I have only had 1 inferno staff drop (nirnhoned) and zero lightning staves.
Is my luck just garbage or is the loot in VMA supposed to be more in favor of 1H/shields and resto trash?

✭✭✭✭✭VMA has been known for its bad RNG since it has been a thing. Even back during the Orsinium anniversary event, where Maelstrom Arena granted double drops. There was still atrocious RNG. Getting double S&B is not fun. But anyway, yes. It's not just you. The RNG there is bad. I personally as well haven't received a lightning staff of any kind, have received 2 infused ice staves, 2 inferno staves (defending and nirnhoned), and tons upon tons of restoration staves.3 -

Ouch. I've gotten lots of sharpened weapons in regards to stamina (e.g. Axes, bows, daggers, etc.), but destruction staves avoid me like the legendary trio of Johto. Especially sharpened.1 -

Yes this is post homestead. First two gets were restro staves. And I think I have 3-4 axes now as well. I want to get a flawless run and make it to weekly leaderboards for sorc so trying quite reguulary0 -
Kihamai✭✭✭✭Sounds like rotten luck. I ran it a week or two ago and got a sharpened lightning staff. I got a sharpened frost staff and sharpened dagger during the double drop event.
Still have yet to get another sharpened dagger or axe, a sharpened bow, & a sharpened inferno staff. Then again, I only run it every once in a while.pc na | trash tier0 -

✭I've run it over 200 times since orsinium - from cp380 to now max cp. I've NEVER gotten a sharp 2hander- which is total BS because 2handers should take up half the loot table, I've only gotten 4 daggers total- all in crap traits- and about 120 resto staves- i *** u not. i created an alt just to store them all to prove a point- but deleted him when decided to make a toon i could play. this patch was supposed to make the RNG better- but to no avail. i know they want us to keep playing it- but to the point of no enjoyment? even if i had all the weapons i d still do vma all the time- because i like taking new builds and classes into it- most of the time i ll play 2hand and sword/shield setups just for fun to practise. but when the loots so bad it takes away from ur enjoyment. i know alot of people will say move on- get another sword- but the 2hand great sword is literally THE sword i have always wanted since i saw videos of this game and was deciding to buy it- just dig the way it looks- it just is my excalibur. and so it shall elude me...Edited by MakoFore on February 19, 2017 8:31AM0 -

The RNG is good, why it can happen like that. That's what random is all about, it doesn't keep track what you have got before, and if you're unlucky it can happen like the author of the thread described.
I see so many complaints about the RNG and maybe Zos should implement another system for it. But complaining about the random is plain silly.
I personally think it's exciting, not knowing what's in the chest.
