Crafting writ rewards

Crafting items to complete writs should be returning mats of closer rank. It's annoying completing writs using up mats I could be using for my ch160+ character. For example, for today's blacksmithing writ, I was asked to make a rubedite greatsword, gauntlet and sabaton. My reward was getting a bunch of high irons back, as well as some soon to be decon'd gear.

I probably wouldn't be bitching as much if I had gotten an sealed master writ instead, but, all the same, that kind of material reward just blows.

I always just sell the mats i get from the shipments, 25 oak isn't usefull too me anymore.
I don't really mind tho, I usualy get some gold mats aswell.

Had 1 master writ since homestead, worth 6 vouchers, so a change to the drop system for those would be nice. Untill then, the new ebony motif or any of the new items sold by the voucher merchant for that matter, will be out of my reach.

I have 8 toons all max crafting skills. Been doing the daily writs since Homestead on Feb 6th, 12 days ago.

3 items per BS, WW, Clothing writ is roughly 15 mats x 9 items * 8 toons = 1080 mats (360 of each mat) per day = 12,960 mats used in 12 days.

I wouldn't mind doing that *if* the drop rate of the Master Writs were higher to essentially trade those mats for the vouchers to get the new items. But because of the absurdly low drop rates for max level crafters, at several K per stack, that's something like 190k gold in mats used in 12 days and I've got a total of 45 vouchers from all that.

I've made the decision today to abandoned the writ system (again) as it's a sink I don't need. I guess I'll buy master writs to get the items I'm interested in, but I'd MUCH rather farm them up, but right now the cost of doing that is far too high for far too few vouchers.

Considering max crafting writs give gold tempers half the time, surveys that give you raw materials(which if you sell will net you a lot more gold than refined, or if you refine can give you gold tempers), a piece of equipment you can sell to a vendor for 180-220g or sell on the AH for the same, and a chance of a sealed writ, I'd say it's very good rewards.

    Requirement for average BS writ: 40 ingots(at 20g/ea, this is 800 g)
    3 style stones(15g ea, 75g).

    Rewards:
    650g every time.
piece of equipment, every time - 200g.

Already worth it, without the factor of gold tempers(3k-9k, depending on the temper), surveys, sealed writs, saphires.

Lennie: Breton Sorceror. 9-trait crafter on everything, purveyor of useless frippery.
