Landscaping is Expensive...

I'm really enjoying this aspect of homestead, but if you're an enthusiast, there's a substantial cost in terms of item budget, crowns, and gold. I got Mournoth specifically for the architecture, big yard, and reasonable price, but I'm not even close to finished with my landscaping and I'm already over 50% of my total item budget (and the interior is completely empty). Most of the small plants are only available via crowns - they're cheap, but it adds up. Nice trees can be purchased with crowns (not cheap) or in-game, but they run 10,000 g and up. Rocks and boulders are generally cheap. Here's the still unfinished result:

This one is just to show the great view Mournoth has (unlike many other houses). This is from a rampart I built along the wall.

waaaw, I love housing more and more each day, seeing stuff like that !

I lack the creative mind, so it a challenge for me, and one that I love taking on, hope more and more will share their creative and beautiful work

Thanks! You should just try it, have fun, and see what happens! It's much easier and cheaper to learn to do this in ESO than IRL!

The platform is really cool thing and cheap, I bought a few for 150g each, for my humblemud in Dhalmora. So sad humblemud has only 100 furniture hooks, this cozy place definitely deserves more hooks.
When grinding for mats I like that we can find some really cool furnitures like the wall paintings.
I also try to create a cozy area in my humblemud, however last of free hooks will be the main problem here.
So far it looks like this

Entering main hut, a wooden tunnel guarded by dwemer spider ;)

Inside, on the right main part for meetings, eating resting and music and art.

Please, add more than just 100 hooks.

If Landscaping is so expensive then why bother with it? I haven't even done the quest to get the free house.

Everyone has their own motivations, but for me, I'm creative and this is the first creative activity ESO has offered. I guess my post was more about the cost ceilings associated with housing/landscaping - in my case that's mainly the item budget "cost" as I have plenty of gold. It requires lots of plants to create the space/feel I'm trying to achieve.

Creating my home has been a slow and steady process. I get about one piece added every time I log. I wish I could do more but I mainly pvp, so I make little gold. I have started farming for blueprints and mats for a couple of hours each time I log, but I don't enjoy it.

i want to buy mournoth pretty much just to landscape it.

as you've so adeptly shown, it's got some serious potential. :)

    nicely done.
