I am about to finish cadwell's gold, and I clearly feel that three alliances' quest are done by different groups.

DC's story, character and battle are the best. High King Emeric is definitely the Most wise leader and he cares for his subjects (he is in all five maps to stablize DC). Others like Darion, lady Laurent, Sttibons…they are Very well designed and have personality of their own. Also though main quest lines have to be in normal difficulty, DC team managed to have different kinds of battle (control fire ball from above, fighting a ghost army etc).Overall DC is the Best in all these designs.

EP has some nice stories, but stories in each region are too independent that I feel like they are forced together. You don't even see the skald king until Eastmarch, and in first three maps no one even mentioned his name. However one thing EP team did good is that the contents in each map are so smooth——you go to A B to get two quests in the area, they can be finished at the same time easily and you can expect the final quest enders are at C together——and C is usually near the region of next quests or a wayshrine. DC and AD failed on this smoothness. (However, so far the only successful character i met is Naryu, the ONLY one)

AD……well the story is not that great and you need to running around to get quests and finish them in different places. The story is not great neither, characters are poorly build except Queen Alyenn(who became a mere NPC in the last two maps)and Ras. One thing though is their art work……it is the Best among three, and I don't think I need to explain much about it (the great tree, Marvelous device, cat temple and glowing Ancient cats, and don't forget the only good NPC with enchanted weapon——the vampire hunter).

While EP's stories are independent, it makes sense that they are. It introduces the leaders of the three member races to culminate in the sealing of the pact in the second last zone and a group fight at the end. DC's stories are all over the place with the only tie in being Emeric.

I definitely enjoyed DC the most, the story and the characters were far more memorable. In a lot of ways, DC felt like the true starting point for players, as it did a much better job introducing you to the various characters who would later tie in with the main questline.

After having played through the EP questline about, oh, seven or so times now maybe? I'm utterly sick of it. Only reason I did that was due to me wanting all my characters to be Pact. But the Pact quest zones were uninteresting, uncomfortable to play in, and some of the quests were infuriating. Only exceptions to all this was probably Eastmarch and The Rift.

The DC Questline however was much better, if not a bit convoluted. You go from Glenumbra over to Stormhaven all dandy, but then take a hard turn north to Rivinspire, but then when that's done you do a gigantic U-Turn south, skipping Stormhaven and crossing the water to Alik'r before eventually finishing over in Bangkorai. The travel guide designing that vacation in the Covenant should be fired. But the story was well crafted and I really enjoyed Emeric, he's a very level headed leader, albeit him turning into a whimpering pile of molten putty in that one questline so easily was a downer.

The AD....I don't like the AD. I didn't like the Questline at all until I eventually got to Reapers March and finally got some Khajiiti culturalism in the form of helping the new Mane. (I LOVE Shazah so much) The only memorable moment in the AD questline was the ship to ship battle at sea against the Serpent. It was a wonderful change to the usual, and if ZOS had somehow made it more cinematic like the boat rocking on a turbulent sea and maybe some rain? Then It would've been THE best Quest moment in the entire game hands down. Sadly, this game isn't very cinematic....at all.

I thought DC was the worst - Emeric is an oaf. I found the surroundings a bit boring, not that different from rural Britain (where I live). But with werewolves...

AD was OK - Reapers is probably my favourite area, but I abhor those wooded areas that for some reason have massive concealed cliffs. Just a mindless excuse to frustrate my efforts in getting from A to B. I'd forgotten why I never went back to those areas until the Fighters and Mages Guild quests took me back.

    But Ayrenn was friendly ;)

I enjoyed EP the most, and I still use Stonefalls as my base. Probably harking back to my love for Morrowind...

And there is Varyu - maybe I'll get to share that bubblebath... ;)
