Usually when you approach the Fireplace there is an option to 'activate' or 'deactivate' it. Unless you have a Fireplace that is meant purely for show. In that case, you'll need to get a different fireplace that allows for interactivity.

Got the Cyrodilic Jungle house in Malabal Tor. And can't find any way to light it.
So can that one be activatet?

Pretty sure the fireplace only comes with that house furnished, I don't recall seeing the light there in the unfurnished preview.

I believe you have to find or buy a blueprint for burning logs to craft and place in the fireplace itself. You'd be able to interact with the logs to turn the fire on and off. At least this is how it worked on the PTS...my active account is PS4 so I haven't played with Homestead live yet.

As others said - i believe there are firepits and the like under lighting and/or workshop that you can slide into the fireplaces - but i haven't seen this for myself yet. i have a firepit but put it outdoors.

    EDIT:
Firelogs three types -ashen charred and flaming all interactable lights under the lighting tab in your housing editor.

So you can crown them, find plans and craft them or find them for sale in guild vendors (maybe npc vendors.)

It costs 80 crowns to buy a fireplace to put in your home. Look in the crown store located within the housing editor.

Another alternative is to make a fire yourself using 100g firelogs from one of the house furnishing npcs and burying a brazier underneath to create flames, you probably won't be able to interact with the brazier to turn off the flames since it will be placed in the ground but you should be able to get the effect of a fire.

I had to build my own fireplace as mine did not come with one . I bought fire logs but they do night light or I just couldn't figure them out so I used a brazer under the flooring .

Khajiit Fire Pit is an excellent solution to this problem......

Either buy/find the plan or buy the item in Guild stores ........

It works as lighting so can be lit or turned off.

This is super annoying... The odd thing is, unfurnished Cliffshade does come with the flaming logs in 2 of the three fireplaces, and yet Ravenhurst and Cyrodilic Jungle house do not, and I have seen no plans or crafted flaming logs myself. Are they even craftable, or crown store only?

Can you cook at the interactable fireplaces under the "lights" category?
