Stam sorc tank. Need help!

So i just started playing on pc not to long ago and im starting from scratch. Im already cp130 and raising fast. Ive played through everything on xbox max cp master crafter all that but i just upgraded my pc and its just better.

The one character i never put any time into on xbox was my stam sorc so thats what i started with first on pc. I have been leveling as dps but just switched over to tank for faster dungeon ques.

Right now im just working with whatever gear drops for me in random dungeons so gear sets arent even on my mind right now. I will most likely switch back to dpsfor pvp when i hit 160.

Im an orc and im wearing heavy and medium armor.

My bars look like this

S&Sh:
Pearce armor
Hurricane
Caltrops
Darkdeal
Power surge
War horn

(Some of the morphs may not be right cant think of them right now)

Duel weild:
Steel tornado
Bladecloak
Shuffle
Circle of protection
Vigor
Dawnbreaker

Basically what im going for is huge AoE pressure and trying to stay alive and keep aggro. My single target sucks!!! Lol

Im wondering if anyone has any advice on my bar set ups. I havent even thought about gear yet but some advice would alwas be welcome.

You cannot do good tanking with that. You will not have enought resources for blocking and without blocking you will be healer mana leach and oneshoted often.

I get alot of self healing from all the DoTs and power surge. Vigor helps in a pinch and dark deal allows me to regen alot of staminia really fast.

I never really seem to be low on stam for blocking. I appreciate the "constuctive" feed back though.

Can you solo WBs with adds with your build smth like spider nest in Stormheaven? If not your tank will be a group problem in some vet dngns (and i do not even talk about vet trials).
It's hard to make "constuctive" feed back as the whole concept is bad.
May be you can build a viable magika tank with double 1h&b/1h&b and at least 5 heavy. May be you can build viable stam or hybrid tank with 1h&b/ice destro and at least 5 heavy.
But 1h&b/DW and medium concept is not viable for tanking.

It depends on what you are tanking. If all you are going for are random norms, well some of those don't even require a tank if your deeps and heals are good enough.

If you are moving up vet and higher, the harder dungeons will pose a problem.

I didnt say anythig about soloing WBs or vet anything. Using a tank build to get faster ques for normal dungeons to level up.

But agian thanks for the "constructive" feed back.

Most of normal dungeons can be done without tank. But choosing "tank" role in ques does not make your build really tank build. Usually when somone talks about tank build it is told of really tank build which allow you to tank content that cannot be done witout a tank. For that cases your build is not viable.

Sad thing is that my rogue in wow could evasion tank onyxia and maintain 100% dodge chance, but you can't get anything like that here because stacking buffs doesn't work anymore =p

My main is a hybrid sorc tank with 1h&s on both bars so I can't help you much on the DW bar. My main bar is:
    Shattering Prison
    Heroic Slash
    Boundless Storm
    Bound Armaments
    Pierce Armor
    Aggressive Warhorn

Boundless Storm lasts longer than Hurricane so I run that instead.
Prison for cc, Heroic Slash to keep up the ulti gen, Armaments for the stam boost, and Pierce for its taunt of course. It's not fancy, and doesn't do much dps but tanking should be about the group buffs and that just works for me.

When Homestead drops on console I'm going to try an ice staff back bar but for now they are: hardened ward, absorb magic, dark deal, bound armaments, inner fire, and absorption field.

Gear wise I run Ebon/Alkosh for trials and Nobles/Defending Warrior for solo and 4 man stuff. I also have a set of Imperium and Lunar Bastion hidden away just in case.

Lots of interesting feedback on here...

Firstly, after Wrobel decided to adjust surge for sorcs by saying it would make it more viable for a crit build sorc tank I laughed...

    ...a lot!

After I got up off the floor I took it as a challenge.

Long story short, Sorc stamina tank/dps hybrid!

She is strong enough to tank all 4 man dungeons (The build is centered around 4 person content), can also put out 15-20k single target DPS.

She has between 4-7k per second self healing, and runs 1H&S and DW (Just like the OP).

Has a few group buffs in there, Warhorns, Alkosh, etc.

Once i've got it revised for Homestead then I'll put the newer version of it all out there fully. Been running it for over half a year now.

To the OP... your bars etc are a lil bit messy and you need certain gear sets to make the idea work, but the theory of what it sounds like you want to achieve CAN be done! I have!

To the naysayers who claim that none of this is viable... you may be surprised! ;)

I tank most average difficulty vet dungeons in 5 BR 5 VO. Vma duel wield bow and a taunt. The sustain, dps, tankyness and healing is insane.

Surge bloodthirst and vigor is enough healing to solo easy vet dungeons at max cp.

So im saying stam sorc dps/tanking is viable and tons of fun. Just skip dlcs dungeons and ones like city of ash 2.

Shield stacking magsorcs can put out huge dps while tanking this harder content though.

For your build you should slot absorb magic on you s&b bar and mostly use bloodthirst as dps and to stay alive. Blood craze is nice to. Lose steal torando untill you have 5 piece vo, in heavy armour you cant sustain.

    Cheers!

It's hard to build a sorcerer for tank since their shield is based off max Magica but your pet heal is based off of high health.

I keep thinking about trying a health regen setup on my stamsorc.. using a pet for the passives (and heal) - its just a shame you have to use a pet to get those passives though..
I kind of think surge, vigour and high health regen could be very strong.
