It's cleanse/pruge that make siege useless against players, no need to spam heals and drain your resources. I'll often stand out in front of siege to attract counter-siege while on my Templar. It relieves pressure on the zerg sieging behind me. IMO it's the way it should be. If you want to kill players come on down off that wall and engage in combat.

Zos has made clear they intend that no one should be able t enter a keep until the walls are down. They have corrected bugs and exploits that some players used for this purpose.

Agreed, but if they design a siege tower attack that is similar to the time/effort it takes to bring down a wall, it would add a cool dynamic to sieging. Of course, they will also need to design a competent counter siege tower attack.
My suggestion is to create a trebuchet that throws actual players into the keep. Hahaha...can you imagine the scene of 20 trebuchets launching players into keeps? I know it's not realistic, but...
