5600 Crowns? Why not 5500? Oh that's right, because it forces anyone who would want that house to buy more crowns... I see what you did there, Zenimax... very sleazy, but I'm not surprised... Fortunately I have exactly 100 crowns left over at the moment, so if I want that home, you aren't squeezing extra dollars out of me.

Not so much sleazy as good business sense. If you want good content you have to be willing to pay for it.

It's a good counter measure to the populace who only purchase content when it's on sale.

Yes, it's not right the rest of us should subsidise content for others, but it's an everyday part of our lives you should be a custom to by now.

    Consider it a tax ;)

    You flatter them unduly.

Housing presently serves little purpose other than being something to decorate.

Given how outrageously they charge for some things in the crown store, eg. glow kitty and elk mount, players are naturally going to feel stingy about how they spend their crowns. Especially when it comes to largely pointless stuff they can also buy with in-game gold.

At the moment I'm not even going to spend in-game gold on a house. Maybe when I have enough writs to deck one out with crafting tables but that's likely to take a while.

Umm... stay moist mansion is 5500, so to reflect that gorinir is more expensive in game it is 100 crowns more. Probably not a cheaky marketting stategy, just the incremental price increase that takes it over the largest crown pack.

But anyway, you combine the 100 crowns you already paid for with another pack of crowns. That will show them. Or buy two packs and keep the other 5400 crowns for the next time you won't let them squeeze extra crowns out of you.

Although I think this post is a little funny, it is far more ridiculous that ZOS is selling items for more than the largest pack of crowns.

Also keep in mind that the Gorinir Estate is pretty darn huge, so perhaps size was also part of the pricing equation.

Such a troll. Good content... LOL. It's the horse armor of eso.
The dlc houses in Oblivion, were much more extensive and had plenty of functionality. While you can craft even set gear in eso homes, it's not practical for most players yet, at least more than a bench or two (maybe) and won't be for months.
My two favorite oblivion dlc homes, were the ones for vampires/dark characters and the wizard's tower.

In the den, you had a thrall to feed off of, plenty of salt to mine and a garden in there. the place looked awesome, and the entrance to it and it's location made it feel like a dark hideaway. And there was also a shrine to Sithis

The wizard's tower was well, literally on top of the world. I think it was the highest point in the game unmodded, iirc. I would up my skills that boosted the jumps and get on top of it and then use paintbrushes to get even higher and then just jump. As high, and as far out as I could and enjoy the view plunging down to my death. Beyond that fun, the place looked pretty cool and the mod that touchéd it up made it look waaaay better. And it was my fav place on any non vamp. It had the spell crafting altar, atronachs, tons of books/bookcases the cool stairs the fountain the neat room with the portal outside of it too. and the views, the views

all for about 5 bucks iirc

or was it 120 bucks? my brain doesn't very well, so 120 bucks is a sweet deal to me since it my brain tells me it's cheaper than spending 5 bucks on something better

Ahahaha "horse armor of eso" I haven't had a good laugh in awhile imma use that one in the future. Thanks.

I agree the houses in this game are whack. They're literally just Hollywood cutboard cutouts in the western movies. No functionality within it and if we do want some level of functionality like the target dummy we have to fork up an up and a leg for it.

Man if Zo$ didn't have the Tes ip this game would've been wild starred by now.

Good business sense is to sale different skus that exceed your most expensive items, or bundles of smaller grouping as to exceed the item so that you'd spend more.

Selling less.....is not good business sense cause it's different charges. Even our credit card companies aren't that stupid, because they'll lock down multiple purchases that seem like the same purchase to protect their customers.

I guess you think instead of 19.99 businesses should list 20.01?

Cmon man it's stupid and greed driven
