Since Cyrodiil is destroyed & we will never be able to visit the Imperial city in all it's glory or be able to compare this wonderful game to Oblivion...

As someone else said no matter where we go on Tamriel it's already been done in Arena.

But apparently that doesn't count because most people didn't know about the TES series before Morrowind.

No they shouldn't stop making content based on the other ES games.

I never played those games so it's all new to me and it's interesting because ESO is 700 years before those times.

They can and should also add new areas to the ES world.

The hell is this kid talking about? It's TES, in the TES world. Why wouldn't they make expansions and go to places we've seen before. Where the hell else would we go? And what's this bs about not catering to rpg fan boys? Why would you care where the *** took place if you're not a fan of rpgs? What do you mean by that? It's not like they can just copy/paste Morrowind into ESO. They're completely different games that run on completely different engines. They can recycle concept art and the map, but they have to make everything else from scratch--the landscape, the items, the characters, everything. Not to mention that the quests are going to be completely different from TES3 as well.

Could they have chosen a previously unseen part of Tamriel? Yes, absolutely. But they're not really saving a significant amount of developer time by picking Morrowind instead, since they can't really reuse TES3's assets in 2017.

maybe OP would like to see new locations in elder scrolls lore, rather than just being spoonfed the same things they've already seen?

OP can "declare to myself that none of this game is cannon" all he wants, much like many people in the world today, who think that anything they believe is factual, regardless of evidence to the contrary.

As posted above, ESO is considered CANON and ZOS works closely with Bethesda in developing content for ESO. Considering that ESO is hundreds of years in the PAST, it is not unreasonable to utilize past locations and previously built topography for future content. Considering the map of Tamriel would not have changed that drastically over a few hundred years, and considering the current Tamriel map in ESO is lacking development, there is a lot they can fill in. Let's also keep in mind that ZOS doesn't have a huge team, so time is precious and this was probably the easiest and fastest way to create content in the given timeframe. Between working on One Tamriel and Housing, I'm honestly surprised they have had the time to create Morrowind in such a narrow timeframe.

Was the OP's opinion that ZOS should stop creating content that takes place in the TES world? That's what I'm reading and that opinion is worthless. Perhaps op speaks for the silent majority of people who hate tes and wish it were another game.

I remember spending hours just wandering around morrowind's map, I actually made a point of following all the roads etc, I just cannot see them creating anything that can do the original morrowind justice.

Then maybe the op should list those in a well thought out suggestion thread instead of this click bait flame post. Or spend more time discussing these lands than he does trying to explain how ZOS is gonna copy/paste a 20 year old game into this one.

it's morrowind, i'm sure we all saw this coming sooner or later. it's the most overrated game in the series, heck maybe even any RPG series: even final fantasy 7 doesn't come close in the overhype magnum opus of the series, so it's not unexpected at all they'd make an expansion pack out of it, way i see it

Well, they could also go to the Shivering Isles, Direnni Tower on Isle of Balfiera, or to Solstheim as well. I don't think it's a bad thing to revisit these places though. It gives more quests and story to explore and less time trying to figure things out in terms of geographic space. Keep in mind the next TES game will have to take ESO's terrain into account as well.

As for cannon, none of it really is. The dragon breaks and the way each game plays our is like it's being told by a different narrator each time. They get the basic shape and landmarks down, but the details change and morph just as a story would between talking to an old behhwr who sees the world as huge and dark verses a world traveled bard who sees it as small yet vibrant. This gives the devs and writers some wiggle room as well, otherwise everything might have the same boring interpretations.

People seem to forget that this Morrowind is not the same as the single player one we all know. This is hundreds of years prior to that one. So expect things to be different and some things to not exist at all.
