both. I had better luck (I got weapons more frequently) from the reward containers but I did get a Sharp sword from a chest. I have not farmed for that set since the weapons came out but I don't think they ever changed anything0 -
NoMoney4GSoul ShrivenJust kill world bosses (not daylies only). I received a lot of briarheart weapons this way (but not as many as pariah's and another set)1

✭If you are able, use the treasure hunter option or passive. You'll get a better chance of getting weapons in chests. Heck, I've even gotten sharpened in the simple chests.1
