- We don't know how many sub, or do not sub.

Personally, I believe that the ESO Plus on PC NA is very popular. I have no more proof of this than your "we know most don't sub" statement. Fact is, we don't know.

Someone here suggested unlimited inventory space at 1000 crowns per slot - I'd go along with that, if anyone is silly enough to buy it, let them have as many inventory slots as they like.

@lordrichter
I started to type all this detailed stuff.....in short I'm referring to Xbox one.
There's a lot we can see because of how he store, game hub, clubs and social systems work.
There are more who don't subscribe period and consider since release, the majority of us who continue to try and subscribe, don't get crowns still as well as not getting access to dlc unde a active sub.
Ppl don't give money away for free....pc and PS4 may differ but it's so low on Xbox one that we don't even have options to buy more than 30 days.
It was confirmed that actual sales are split evenly among the three platforms.

So you're arguing that it's reasonable to expect everyone who wants QoL inventory be forced to pay $15/month or pay $10/slot but considering that this game wouldn't launch with a sub, that no option to buy a limited bag for 1000 -5500 crowns for 25-100 slots isn't something they should ever offer?
@disintegr8
That contradicts allowing players to buy dlc or chapters. That's like saying you can only play dlc unless you subscribe.
That's the point of view this topics aligns under.

Youre speaking for one platform. PS4 is very popular and has held a top spot on Add-Ons for quite a while.
Saying that more players dont sub doesnt change anything for ZOS. The vast majority dont sub AND they dont pay beyond the base game. So by your logic ZOS should open up Crafting Bags to players that dont pay because.......? Why would they stop something that consistently brings in 15 dollars per Sub monthly vs a one time purchase that will never garner them another cent for the life of that account?

Not having a crafting bag does not stop you from doing anything in the game. Its a convenience item. A very powerful one that not any other game i can think of has. Zenimax is a company. A companies goal is to make money. If they want to make money then it is to their advantage to motivate people to sub. There is nothing wrong with what they are doing. Not a thing. If you want that convenience pay for that sub. This used to be a sub only game. If you want to play for free then your not going to get all the advantages of subbing. Subbers all paid for the original game to. The difference is they all pay an additional cost of $180 year. Far more than that original purchase to enjoy the subbing advantages.

I am prepared to pay my ESO+ for QoL and if others are not prepared to pay it, that is their choice. The only other thing I can suggest is that if you want to get the same major perk as a subscriber, it should come at a substantial cost - maybe the equivalent of 12 months subs or more.
As it is, anyone can get around the inventory issue very cheaply by getting a 1 months sub to ESO+, putting all of their crafting supplies in the craft bag, farm as much as possible for a month and then simply not renew it.
Why should someone have a one off option of even $60 for a permanent craft bag when lots pf players are happy paying their monthly dues?

$500?
Really $500? Really lol?
Please come back down to planet Earth.
We get it the crafting bag is only allowed for "loyal subs" in no way should it be sold to lesser creatures without the sub. Because that wouldn't be fair and life isn't fair.

This crafting bag according to polls I saw here brings so much money to ZoS that they don't even care about people complaining on things like broken group finder since homestead launch. Last patch they just rofled on everybody when wrote in patch notes that they fixed only the dogs barking.
ZoS right now can teach anyone how to make money from MMO.
@Kneighbors
I disagree. I think from a business standpoint it would be detrimental to keep things as they are.
Follow me here:
- We know most don't sub
- We know many threaten not to sub if AC or Y is or isn't changed each update
- We know DLC for ESO Plus will only come at most 3 times a year but based on housing, it's twice a year.
Speculations:
If there are a potential of 8.5 million customers based on purchases. But realistically only 4 million and We know most don't sub so let's give a very generous 40% subscribe
We then have 60% who the company can only make money from chapters and crowns.
What we do know:
So if crafting bags and other QoL features are why some sub, why wouldn't you try to tap into the other customer base without disrupting the existing subs?
Even if 80% sub, with chapters coming and the ESO Plus feedback thread, changes are coming. Subs will go off and on based on player desires.
Proposal:
Continue the QoL features of the existing sub and consider feedback changes but move away from a subscription model as a One size fits all cause it doesn't.
Crafting bags - offer in limited quantities by tier and upgrades for real money.
Sale DLC and Chapters bundles that include QoL things like crafting bag slots, and other items in the crown store or soon to be added to the crown store.
Other QoL - continue to offer for real money
While I'm not a fan of all the crown stuff, exclusive pricing, if they continue to try and push the subscription, it's going to limit their customer base.
People will either buy, subscribe or not buy, but eliminating the buyers and forcing them to sub or not sub ends up in loosing a lot of potential customers.
There aren't 4-6 million active players. There are reason why, but some is tied to how they force sub features and lock them behind it.
leothedino wrote: »I sub to support the game (aside from spending a little on crowns from time to time, too), so it would be a poor incentive to do so without benefits or perks for subscribing. It's always those that refuse to sub (or can't) that are appalled when ESO+ members are awarded additional benefits for coughing up the money that keeps their beloved game running.
Without perks, it's called 'donation' and not a 'subscription'. ZoS are not here to just do us all a favour and make this game, they are a business and businesses set out to make money.
