Dye Question: Covenant Blue vs Covenant Conqueror Blue

Can anyone with both of these dyes (Covenant Blue / Covenant Conqueror Blue) unlocked tell me how different these two dyes look on metals?

I'm trying to see which either of these two blue dyes looks shinier on metals... I know I could always earn the achievements to check them out, but Covenant Blue would take too much time to make bets on how the blue dye would come out to be... If Covenant Conqueror Blue, which is much easier to get, has better or similar shining effects as Covenant Blue, I'd just go for Covenant Conqueror Blue, but if Covenant Blue dye is worth the effort, I'll most likely skip Covenant Conqueror Blue and just grind my ass off to get Hero of DC achievement...

It'd be greatly appreciated if someone could screenshot the difference between these 2 dyes, or just tell me which one looks better or shinier.

Look up voidstone violet. It appears more of a blue-ish hue and looks excellent on metals. I think it requires a no death achievement for one of the vet dungeons.

Ya i been looking around and voidstone violet seemed the coolest as far as blue coloring goes, but I figured covenant conqueror blue or covenant blue might be easier to get cause the Vet Dungeon achievements required for voidstone violet seemed pretty hard and time consuming...

Dyes look different on each material and on each racial style. You can't predict what one dye will look like on something else, you can only try it and see if you like it.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Well, I completely agree with you, but I reckoned that someone with some familiarity with both of these dyes might come up and just say that one of these two dyes in fact have shinier and clearer blue coloration/hue in general. For instance, I know for sure that I can say Coldharbor Ash Black looks darker and blacker than most gray dyes in the game, regardless of material and racial style differences.

There is actually a better black, not sure the name on it.

Further more the dyes get more pastelish as you get to Ruby Mats, so depth of Hue as you are concerned goes out the window after leveling gear. One of the main reasons I hate Ruby Mats is they suck at taking most dyes that look good at lower levels. Ironically, I can't get a good red dye on anything like I could at say L30 and L40 Gear.

It also depends on which of the 3 "slots" you apply the dye to, some come out more saturated than others.

If your in the game when I am tonight, I can model both dyes for you, but it won't be an accurate model unless you provide me the piece in at least the racial style and level you are interested in. Don't worry about improving it.

Speaking of Improving, that has an impact on how the dye looks too.

The difference between the two is so subtle on some armor styles that it's almost impossible to discern between the two:

I can illustrate that on my magicka DK ...

    Damn... thanks for the screenshots.

Eyup. I think ima go for Covenant Blue.

And while we are still in the topic, do you also have voidstone violet by any chance?

Done on a variety of armors and junk to get a better spread of metal. Sorry for the lighting, couldn't wait for a better time in-game. Covenant Blue is slightly more purple but since it's a Rare dye it will tend to be more saturated then Uncommon dyes like Covenant Conqueror Blue.

Now, looking at these screenshots, I really can't decide if Covenant Blue is worth it as opposed to simply getting Covenant Conqueror Blue...

I guess Nestor's right. Seems like I really got no choice but to get both achievements and actually see for myself whether I like Covenant Conqueror Blue or Covenant Blue more.

They are both decent blues to be honest.

But with the variability of dyes I have taken to just using the randomize function a few times and I usually find a combo that I like that way, maybe tweak the dye a little on one slot. I end up using colors I never thought I would.

I haven't completed all the no-death achieves for voidstone violet, yet. However, Epic Violet looks just as nice ... and is a lot easier to get the achievement.

Forgot that this one was mentioned as well. It's extremely dark but very very blue, also a rare-quality dye so it tends to keep its saturation and shine on most materials.
