Altaholics (& others) How are you handling maxed out character slots and planning for Morrowind?

If ZoS doesn't do the right thing and include at least one character slot with the purchase of Morrowind like every other MMO does, then I will be forced to delete a character. There is no way that I am purchasing a slot on top of paying full price for the expac. If ZoS is going to be greedy and charge us for a slot, then I wont give them any money.

While I am really excited for the preorder bonus stuff especially the costumes, I am surprised that they did not include a character slot with it all. I think it would have been a nice gesture honestly, but I guess as others say at the end of the day they are a business ::shrugs::

I'm definitely an altaholic, and I'd never even consider changing the class (or race, for that matter) of any of my characters.

The reason I've got so many characters (12 level 50s on my main account, 7 level 50s & 1 level 25 on my 2nd account, 3 level 50s & 5 level 25s on my 3rd account) is because I came up with a whole bunch of different character concepts that I wanted to build. A lot of the concept for each of my characters has to do with how I wanted them to look, but the class also played a large part in those character concepts, so if a class change option was introduced, I'd never take advantage of it.

What I am going to do is get 2 more character slots on my main account and make 2 Wardens. After I've played those Wardens for a bit, I might start buying additional character slots on my 2nd account to make a few more. After all, if I have only 2 Wardens then that's far fewer than I have of any other class...

The horse training is the only bit that's going to be painful for me. I haven't bothered with any training on my 2nd and 3rd accounts, but all 12 characters on my main account (obviously I play my main account far more often than my 2nd or 3rd - I think they're only at 182 & 165 CP respectively) have their riding skill at 60/60/60. The first 8 characters have been that way since about a month after ESO went B2P, and the other 4 just finished their last training a couple of weeks ago. I'm not looking forward to starting it up again on new characters.

Yeah, I have 12 slots full as well. I basically made my 12th toon when they announced morrowind to save the name I wanted.

I too am generally opposed to a class change, but I would not be opposed to a one time per account swap to warden on one character. If they did plan to do that, it would be nice to know ahead so I could start feeding the horse on number 12.

Now if you follow the money, my guess is they will not do that. They will make more money from selling riding lessons on patch day than class change tokens...

When I'm maining one, the others are inactive item mules, so I'll probably just buy an additional slot for Warden :p

I understand, one of my first five characters I tried to build as a Druid, he is a DK for the earth magic with a resto staff, DK is my least favorite class and I think if I could refresh him into a Warden it would feel more druid-y (I hope). He is maxed riding and I dread throwing away the all that training.

You have got me beat with third account!!! That's amazing! Although I do have 8 characters on my EU server that are background people in my story (all of my characters are involved) but they have little to no progression.

The MG books don't bother me all that much since it's easy enough to grind them, especially now that all zones are the same. Just use the Lorebooks addon and you can easily do it in a day or 2.

Horse training, OTOH, should be account wide just like CP. There is zero fun in an activity that takes several RL months to do and requires no game play effort. After you go through it once, that should be it.

Aye, I would also have no issue with the lore books if I could use on add-ons, but I am a console player :)

I like your idea about horse training, if you think about it CP are significant to more aspects gameplay than horse training really and they are account wide.

Last night as I was making a new character and clicked their first speed training, I thought how it would even be a huge improvement if the daily visit to the stables did something like one training in each stat. Not perfect but makes a huge dent in time. Of course they could also make it like bank/bag space with its own scale so you can train up as you please/any amount.
Or ESO+ gives you max riding skills =P

    So many possibilities :)

Again, follow the money. Before housing dropped, my guess is that riding lessons were near the top of their sales. I have 10 maxed horses, most of it done through feeding, but I have admittedly power leveled speed on a few just to make them playable on a new toon. I am certainly not the only one.

Power leveling a horse to max costs more than a furnished manor.

Yeah console. I wasn't thinking about you guys :)

The next best thing to an addon is the set of maps with their location over at Dulfy. http://dulfy.net/2014/02/25/eso-lorebooks-locations-guide/#1

Damn! I have bought a few packs, but not to that extent! I can imagine a lot of people use them, especially if they want to jump right to PvP. I used the bank space as a comparison because with that you at least have no time limit, but still a gold sink with an option for crowns.

Since we are going to be able to get more slots, I made my 12 chatacter permanent and have begun horse training. I have at least one character that I think would fit better as a warden, and have paused progressing them in case I need to remake them. At the same time I've held off deleting just yet in case there is a class change option.

They could still keep some inconvenience in it to provide an incentive for crown store sales if we trained individual mount skills instead of character riding skill. Each mount would need to be leveled up but the mount's level would be account wide.

If they did it this way, they could even sell some mounts partly or totally pre-leveled to make them more attractive. Some might characterize that as P2W but I'd like that system better.

I also like some of what BDO does with their additional horse skills and accessories you can add to horses to improve them.

There's actually a lot they could do with mounts to make them both more useful while also increasing crown store sales.

I have all 12 character slots filled and will purchase the 2 extra slots for the Wardens. My issue is less about creating new character, but how to reorganize them or be stuck with 2 new Wardens on the same faction. Right now my top 4 characters are AD, the next 4 are EP, and the last 4 are DC; the Wardens if I'm unable to rearrange my listings may have to be both DC so it doesn't annoy the crap out of me seeing two faction characters out of place. If you're wondering, I have 3 of every class with 1 Magicka Tank, 1 Magicka DPS/healer, and 1 Stamina DPS. For the Wardens I will probably forgo the Magicka Tank seeing as they will only be adding 2 more slots for purchase.

At least in World of Warcraft, I have the option of moving characters up and down, and have another merged server to have my Alliance characters on one Server and all my Horde characters on another Server within the same shared realm. I have them arranged by Armor-type.

Hopefully they add a recategorization option in the future. I always see people asking for it here, and it is something I would like too. Maybe with Morrowind we will finally see it!
