Time to head into pvp learn how to gank.

    I hope you picked khajiit!

Of course this one is Khajiiti. Born under the waxing Jode and waning Jone this one was. And then promptly sacrificed for a Black Sacrament by skooma peddling parents. Raised to fight for the Dro m'Athra. Then this one was killed in battle....ahem...while taking a quick potty break.

Here is my concern and what other people seem to be glossing over when giving you approximate times to reach CP160... the fact that it took you a month to reach level 50 when most people do that in a couple of days. So it is really tough to give an estimate if you aren't a player playing several hours per day; you get out of it what you put into it. It is relatively easy to gain CP160 because of the catch-up mechanic, but it all depends on how much time you spend in the game as well.

I don't think this is a very accurate metric to give them given the OP is a new player, and wouldn't have been grinding to reach 50. They probably just quested. They probably aren't interested in grinding to cp160 either.

And OP, if you are having trouble surviving fights with quest bosses, the solution is probably not to gain more cp, but rather to rethink your build, learn more about the game mechanics, and maybe upgrade your gear.

I have a friend that recently started the game, and just got to around 100 cp. She wanted to try learning to DPS, so I agreed to help her out and teach her a bit about how the game works. I realized as I was doing so just how little the game does to educate players on how the game works. And, to compound the issue, the overland content is (relatively) easy enough that it never forces you to learn before you are thrown into the fire.

I realize this isn't the point of the thread, but if you are having trouble with some fights, go ahead and post your build and I am sure we would be willing to give you some constructive criticism and give you some pointers on how to improve.

The character I've been playing with since the game launched in 2014 is now about half a level away from reaching Level 50. What should I spend my points in from that point on?

He's an Imperial Nightblade that has one point in Magicka, five points in Health and all the rest in Stamina.

He mainly battles in Dual-wield (a sword in each hand) and his backup is the bow.

I'm mainly interested in PvE, am usually a solo-player and I love questing. I'm not a PvPer and am hardly interested in that at all.

So what would be the best way for my character to proceed once he hits Level 50? :o

Relax, no need to rush anything.
    Log into game each day.
Try and fail different builds and setups.
Queue for normal dungeons, not vet.
    PC, EU server, Ebonheart Pact

Finally a reason not to play League of Legends

    Stop!
If you are a Dunmer, proceed. If not, reroll a Dunmer.

I was thinking about posting a up to date level 50 build for critique on here.
I just might do that when I get home.

You do things like skyshard hunting, explorer acheivements, crafting, questing. Save the gear grind for AFTER 160.

Yup basically been doing that. Are there any benefits for achievements other than bragging rights?

Oh OK I knew that but wasn't sure there was more to it, seeing as there's a point system that isn't prominently displayed anywhere.

If you're mostly PVEing the priority for where to put your champion points is pretty easy.

    Red: The Lady
Hardy and Elemental Defender. Prioritize whichever of those two you need the most. I.e. if you wear light armor go for Hardy first otherwise go for Elemental Defender first

Green: The Tower (after 300 CP move over to The Lover)
Cost reduction of your main stat, Magicka or Stamina, is what you want here: Warlord for stamina cost reduction or Magician for Magicka. After you max those at 300 CP then move over to The Lover and put points on either Stamina r Magicka regen.

Blue: The Apprentice or The Ritual
This is where you increase your damage output. Mighty in The Ritual for Stamina and Elemental Expert under The Apprentice for Magicka.

That's just the basics and different builds will change your priorities a bit. But those above will give you the most bang for the buck as you level CP.
