Is it so strange that some people don't want to play a character that specializes in murder or play content in which the better and more you murder people, the higher rewards, achievement, stuff you get?
Yes, it is. It's a role-playing game. The character isn't "you" or your avatar. You can play a role that doesn't reflect the character at the keyboard, unless of course your imagination is crippled.
Um, not for nothing, but the fact that it's a role-playing game isn't an argument against what @Joy_Division is saying. If you're truly role-playing a character, then you're not going to do anything with that character which would be against that character's nature. If that character is very high-minded and noble, then that character surely wouldn't stoop to murdering innocents.

From what I understand, attunable stations are in fact as you described. If you wanted to be able to make all the sets In the game, you would need like a hundred stations in your house. It's soooo dumb. I wll certainly never mess with it.

I don't know how to make this clearer. I said "Don't want to play a character." I know it's not me. I do play "in character." The character I play has a fundamental problem murdering people in cold blood. The character I play started out as a Nord and has remained a Nord even though ZoS changed the race such that it is a terrible magicka race. It is because my imagination isn't crippled that I dont just buy DLCs that give me moar power and moar stuff. My imagination isnt crippled, I choose to play the game differently than you.

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

You're kind of out of luck here. Your choices are:

Abandon the writ. You lose the potential writ vouchers and gold you could have had if you'd been less trigger happy with the quest. But no out of pocket loss.

Subscribe. My main doesn't assasinate either, I'm not terribly interested in being a murderer of npcs. I haven't done the DLC main quest but there's plenty of content in DBH that is unrelated to being an assassin. There's a beautiful zone to explore. You get 1500 crowns you would have presumably bought at some other time and can complete your writ. But you end up spending real money.

Pay a crap load of gold to buy an attuned station for one specific and otherwise unpopular set. You lose more gold than you might potentially recoup from completing the writ. Unless the writ is worth more vouchers than what an attunable station would cost, not worth it.

Buy the DLC. Less attractive than option 2 but available. You use crowns to buy a DLC you don't particularly like.

It's been verified that you can use an attuned crafting station for a DLC set even if you don't own the DLC.
Really? Awesome. I've been planning on getting some attuned crafting stations for DLC sets (especially IC ones, because it can be a real pain to get to the stations for them even if you have access to the DLC) so that friends and guildies who don't have access to the DLC can use them, but I didn't know for sure if it would work. And I can't buy any attuned stations yet anyway lol...

AND.....ppl are going to start charging fornaccess to attuned stations like they require guild fees for trader bids.

The only way people could do that is by getting someone to give them gold first, then put them on the guest list long enough to access the attuned stations, then take them off the guest list after. It's possible, but it's not exactly practical.

What's more likely is a guild soliciting donations from members to pay for the initial purchase of attunable stations that will then be put into a "guild hall" house for everyone in the guild to access at any later time. And I don't see any problem with that, as long as it's not forced donations. In fact, when I said I've been planning on getting some attuned crafting stations to attune to DLC sets, I meant that I'm planning on getting them to put in the "guild hall" house that my main guild will be getting.

You dont have to join the Dark Brotherhood in order to access the crafting stations on the Gold Coast. In fact, there's a ton of content avalible in the DLC that can be done without ever touching the guild questline. Skyshards, dungeons, dailies and lots of minor quests.
Actually, one of the Gold Coast side quests is one of my favorite quests in the game: The Sweetroll Killer! But even though that quest isn't a DB quest, I'm pretty sure you can't unlock it without first doing some DB quests.

Ya, I'm pretty sure most of the side quests in Gold Coast require you to be specific levels in the DB before they show up. I still think it's weak that there are no options to join the Order of the Hour or work against the DB(and TG). It really does limit things.

Want to add to this discussion. Picked up a master blacksmith writ today. Accepted the writ only to find I cannot create the item, because I do not know Aldmeri Dominion style.
Surely there must be a way to prevent players opening writs they're unable to complete.

I'd just like the blind "accept this writ?" dialogue to be changed. I'd like it to be changed so that the default answer to the question is "no", and I'd like it to be changed to pop up with all of the details for the writ when it asks the question so that you can actually see whether you can do it or not, and so you can decide if you'd prefer to sell it. Instead it asks you without you seeing what the writ actually requires & what the reward is.

Yes. Show the details of the writ before we accept it, not after, with the option to decline.
