Increase the drop rate of homestead crafting mats

I spent multiple hours farming the last few days with 6 mundane runes to my name.

Went to 30+ guild vendors and not one for sale.

Agreed. I wouldn't increase the drop rate so much that we're drowning in them, but somewhat of a boost to it would be nice.

I would make them as common as the rest of the materials. What is the *explative deleted* of making it take forever to craft housing stuff? Already takes the better part of a year to get all of your traits learned. If the plan was to figure out how to increase longevity, your idea is backward. People will just not do it. And then where is the store revenue gonna come from?

pretty much this. I love decorating. i do NOT love the ridiculous grind it is just to craft a single simple hutch for the kitchen. seriously? its not like housing provides any sort of player power, its supposed to be just for fun, but this downright insane rarity of both materials and mats makes it less and less fun

Someone (I'm sorry, I don't remember who it was) posted an idea on the forums that I liked: make the homestead crafting mats drop from refining regular raw mats, and make the drop rates tied to your refining passives. That way crafters have a better chance of getting them than non-crafters, and you have the chance of getting them from the mats brought to you by hirelings as well.

That would only really work with the ones that come from equipment mat nodes, though. The ones that come from consumables mat nodes would need a different mechanism (maybe they'd stay the same as they are now).

Mundane Runes are particularly rare. I'm swimming in Alchemical Resin and Decorative Wax, but I don't think I've hit double-digits in Runes yet. Clean pelts also seem to be ludicrously uncommon.

I think the drop rate is OK. Prices on furniture mats dropping very fast, if drop rate will be higher, we very soon will have raging posts about not picking them as we have about worms.

I'm still ticked off they didn't just make furniture from existing mats. Screwed over the crafting community AGAIN. The only new "drop" should have been the blueprints to make the furniture.

Are they? I haven't really been farming since the update, but just from grabbing the nodes I see I'm at something in the neighborhood of 25 mundane runes. Way more than I have decorative wax, but also way less than I have alchemical resin. I suspect that we're still looking at sample sizes that are too small for us to have a good idea yet of which mats do drop more rarely than others.

Doesn't seem that low to me. I was getting 2 and 3 on some nodes and getting in them 40-50 % of the time. However, the RNG God's are being kind to me the last couple of days with the exception of master writs.

And, no please don't put them in the refining drop table. Tempers are rare enough as it is. We dont need more competing with them.

Last night I harvested a Redebite node and found Iron in it instead. My only guess as to what caused that is that someone else with low Blacksmithing already hit the node, found and took a Regulus, and left the iron behind.

If this is what happened, that means ZOS actually doubled down on their mistake with the worms and have actually spread the potential for screwing other players over to all nodes.

The suggestion isn't for them to be competing with tempers, it's for them to be an additional drop table with refining. So it would be possible to get both a temper and a homestead mat from a single refine.

I'd like to see these items drop as an additional item in hireling mails and also in the surveys you get from writs. I would not like to have a reduced rate of tempers in refining because of these but if there's a way they can be a bonus drop instead of diluting the temper rates I'd be in favor of that.

I saw a ridiculous number of cheap clean pelts listed by two players across a couple different guild stores last night. Is there a trick to gathering those or are they botters?

Um, you're aware that there's no potential for screwing other players by leaving something in a node right? The node respawn timer mechanism doesn't begin when the node disappears, it begins when the node is "opened" by a player. If someone opens a node but doesn't take anything, or takes 1 thing but not whatever is left, that node will respawn just as quickly as if they took everything.

Why not? That's the way trait stones and tempers work. They're separate RNG rolls and you can get both at the same time from refining.

Because ZoS seems to want to do everything possible to make upgrading gear a huge grind.
