The Straw and the Camel
Well, I've had enough. I was out of this game for a the last half of 2016 or so, waiting to see if 'Housing' when it came might make this game more enjoyable for me. It didn't. Once again, it's been completely FUBARed as a concept. To the point it's even hard to talk about without getting angry. Everything is wrong with it. It's the total opposite of how beautiful it was back in the day of Elder Scrolls being a well modded community and housing being the apex of modding. Now it's a stupid grind, a corporate greed model, highly repetitious, uninteresting, limited quantity, evil instanced lobotomy of the fun it should have been. I fully believe the days when this game was fun, unique and powerfully original are over now. You can't undo or save this giant fiasco. I predict this game's demise is now unavoidable. I give it this year of slowing dying before by mid next year, very few play it. Housing in ESO was the last chance for the devs to get things right or Bethesda to do the right thing, or ZOS. They all blew it. So, I'm out of this game and deleting it from my PC. I will try to remember how immersive this game used to be a solo PC event and not how totally screwed up it became and got worse with every new creation as an MMO. What an ugly, sad death to a franchise.

✭I don't think most of the player base of this game plays it for housing. Housing had a niche appeal, they gave it away for free, and for the work they did they needed to monetize it so that the players who demanded it could pay for it. I don't think they were ever very passionate about housing development, it always was a back-burner idea to placate the RPers into sticking around into the future and when it was time to deliver, to do the minimum effort to get it out.
I'd think there are lots of good "doll house" games out there where you can decorate a house the way you dream and feel creatively rewarded, but I feel they put the right amount of effort into this and now that it's done I hope they put their efforts into kicking out better content than what has been par for a while.“Whatever.”

dbgager✭✭✭Obviously this guy has never seen all the people everywhere you go in this game or has any concept of the games sales figures. I find the game very fun. The quests are actually interesting and you have reasons for what you are doing unlike most MMMOs where it is simply go here and kill this many of a certain mob for no particular reason. So I have no idea what the poster is talking about. This is the best MMO right now and I have played most of them. The game is not dying ..It is actually getting stronger as many people come back to it. If you have such a poor opinion of the game by all means quit. I am in agreement with you @Uriel_Nocturne .
I see all the problems @DysonSolar mentions, and I lament for what Housing could, and should, have been.
But I don't see those shortcomings leading to the game's demise - I am engaging with Housing as it is, because there is no other housing to engage with.
The one game that I enjoy hosing in more than ESO is in serious trouble right now, with its Dev team willfully ignorant of just how badly they are getting things wrong and I will not be returning to that game while those Devs are still in jobs.
So I returned to ESO and found the game massively improved on how it was when I left, with Housing just around the corner, and Morrowind on the horizon. I subbed for 3 months, and will let that 3 month sub roll on until Morrowind - and I'll make as good a job as I can of the Housing we have, in the hope that the Dev team will listen to the playerbase and change things where they need changing (as they did with Vet levels and One Tamriel).

iamkeebler✭✭✭✭As a player that was on a good eight month to a year hiatus until recently, I have to say I'm really impressed with many of the changes that have come to this game so far. Is housing what I expected it to be? Not at all. But I'm not playing ESO for a house. I'm playing it for the immersive experience, the lore, the story content, and e game play. All of which has greatly improved IMO since I last played regularly.0

A creation mode? No, you have to work for what you have in mmos. Yea sure you can use real money to buy the items, but if you do that your an idiot imo. Plus this is all there really is for 3 months. If they just gave it all to you then you would deco one house and be gone for two months till morrowind.3 -
