Public dungeons need some love from ESO

justin.a.hairb14_ESO
When I first went into a Public Dungeon I noticed it was huge, designed really well, laid out well, and not linear like instanced dungeons are. Why can't instanced dungeons be laid out like Public dungeons? Once you do a public dungeon there is no reason to ever do it again because the gear in comparison to Trials or instanced dungeons is rubbish. 1. Any dungeon in the game should require a group to do 2. Delves can remain our solo dungeon experience with shard and boss. 3. Public dungeons need more quest, and tougher mini bosses and final boss. 4. Public dungeons need better gear so they will draw people in them to farm gear this way Public dungeon gear becomes a viable option to wear and use in end game. 5. Public dungeons could even have a Normal and Veteran mode like the instanced ones. 6. Create, an option to Que for public dungeons. 7. Create daily random quests for each public dungeon that helps draw in people to the zones.

As for the instanced dungeons goes I wish they had done this.. 1. Make them huge open zones that are maze like where you can actually get lost in them. 2. Make the layout in these dungeons randomly generated so every play through is differenot and you actually have to explore to find the bosses and the way out. 3. Make them less linear and more of a dynamic ever changing experience.

As for anchors they should do the following. 1. Make them a challenge where when they spawn a zone message goes out telling everyone in the zone this anchor is up. Then make them something that requires as many people as you can get to finish. Basically make them a public raid/trial for the whole zone to do together as 1 team. 2. Make anchors have rare items/loot so people actually have reason to do them.

As for the regular zone bosses.. 1. Make them require a full grip, make them be a significant challenge, have them drop decchallenge, and a chance at some rares. This way People can log in and actually have a reason/purpose/incentive to look for a zone boss group.

As of right now I log in, get an instanced dungeon group for random and daily then log out because anything of signicant value only comes from them. They could do so much to make Zone boss, anchors, and public dungeons actually something important to do at all levels including end game if they followed my suggestions.

An example would be adding rare armor or weapon crafting recipes that have a chance to drop off of anchors, zone bosses and or public dungeons. If they did this people would be all over the place doing these. In order to do this they must be challenging and totally revamped.

This would totally enhance the game while leveling and bring anchors, public dungeons, and zone bosses a thing you'd actually want to invest serious time in end game as well.

Stopped reading after "any dungeon should require at least 2 people."

    Good luck

You clearly never played everquest. All dungeons including public ones were = in difficulty and in quality of drops to instanced ones. Plus all everquest dungeons were massive and you needed tonlearn the lay out or you'd get lost and end up dead. The also had public raids too.

Would also be nice if cyrodill had a public raid boss in it. That way all factions are fighting over this boss to get a chance at a good drop.

The public dungeons used to be much smaller. Zos added to them which is why they appear to add more variety of paths.

As for instances dungeons, there is not reason to add to them. However, at least one of the newest ones is not linear.

And we had Craglorn, an ENTIRE ZONE focused on grouping. It fell flat and almost no one ever went there.

That's EQ and this is ESO. Times change and EQ is ancient. MMOs change and ESO has definitely aligned themselves with casual is cool.

I like public dungeons the way they are. If I want a more challenging group dungeon, I have the option for that as well. Turning all public dungeons into group dungeons reduces options. Sometimes I want to stroll around solo killing some bosses and looting some chests. Some of the public dungeon loot is quite valuable contrary to what the OP says.

The public dungeons are in line with delves...by design they are for those who don't want grouping requirements

Doleman also tend to work this way so Doleman, delves and public dungeons are without group requirements.

Dungeons, Trials and world bosses are for groups

Its a 50-50 split and how it should work based on gear drops and all
