Why does ESO always want me to repair after EVERY patch/update?

So today with the update, ESO wanted me to repair. For a while now it's been asking me to repair after every new patch. Is there some reason for this and any way I can get around it? Thanks.

Dunno if that's your case, but most times I get some kind of error (plus Repair required) when I download a patch while maintenance is in progress. Now I always download some minutes after maintenance is complete and so far I got no more errors.

I tried to close and re-open the launcher, but then it's like "Apply Patch 0.0MB remaining, 0KB/s" and it's at 10%.

I do usually just hit repair and be done with it, but it sucks up a lot of my limited time...

I should also mention that I'm using the Steam launcher.

If it's the old manifest error resurfaced then you can just ignore it. Either close and re-open the launcher until you get the Play button, or else once you've used the launcher to download the patch you can use the .exe file to boot the game. Only if doing those things still results in error reports do you need to run a repair.

I used to see the error most patches, but haven't had it in many months now. If it's something else you're suffering from then you need to give more details including the actual error message.

Well, I'll have to wait until next patch to see if it happens, because I didn't grab the error message. Unless it's written in any logs that the launcher writes.

I've seen this on my end too; I always close the launcher and reload it and it no longer asks for me to repair.
    Baskin Robbins always finds out.

Sorry to necro this, but I got the error again saying that "one or more of the files/process are in use"

Anyone know what it means? Does it mean the TTC client maybe?

This is my biggest issue with ZoS about their maintenance/patches. Since early 2015 I haven't been able to to download a patch and just play the game. Everytime I have to fully reinstall the game after every single patch.

Found that restarting the launcher tend to solve the problem.
I also tend to get repair messages after being offline with launcher active.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
