"Alasan's Plot": Alik'r Desert (PC NA) Bugged

This is the second Alik'r Desert bug I have encountered in 2 days and it is becoming a bit silly now.
The problem arises at the point in the quest where I have placed the Ansei Ward (sword) on the altar and am prompted to "(E) Use Ansie Ward on Alasan" to trap his spirit.
Upon pressing "(E)", my character raises the sword and Alasan shouts, "No! What are you doing? No!" - the sword appears to be drawing in his spirit, but immediately after he finishes shouting, the animation stops and he is hovering over the altar again and I am again prompted to "(E) Use Ansei Ward on Alasan". Quest cannot progress.
Things I have tried unsuccessfully:
1. Going directly to my inventory and attempting to "Use" the sword directly.
2. Logging out and waiting for 5 - 10 minutes, then logging in again.
3. Abandoning and restarting the quest.
4. Quitting the game and waiting 10 - 15 minutes and logging on again.
Nothing has helped. Again, I have submitted a ticket. I hope that this can be resolved as it is impeding my progress and making my (up until now) enjoyable experience of Cadwell's Silver not very enjoyable.
