This makes me happy. I have been playing for 3 days. And I am maybe 1/3 through Daggerfall it seems. And most of the quests do seem interesting rather than run here and kill some creature this many times for no particular reason like many MMOs. The quests all have logical reasons why you are doing them.

Yeah, that's definitely one thing this game got right.

You will occasionally come across a quest (or more often a step in a quest) which requires you kill a certain number of something, or collect a number of items or whatever but it always makes sense in context and it's broken up by other things to do.

There was one MMO I did a free trial for and literally every quest was "Kill 10 of these random creatures that appear outside town, ok, now kill 10 of these random creatures, now collect 10 items from these creatures, now kill this 1 boss." (Or rather wait your turn while other people killed the boss, then kill it yourself.) Then you were done and moved onto the next quest which was exactly the same but you went to a slightly different area.

And there is definitely a lot to do. You'll often see people on this forum complaining that there's not enough new content, but they'll have been playing for years. I've been playing my main character for over 200 hours and I still haven't finished the Daggerfall Covenant region, so I've got over 2/3 of the game left to go.

It is indeed a massive world, but I would still encourage you to take your time, complete each zone before you move on, stick to your original alliance areas until the main story is completed rather than keep dipping in and out of the other alliance areas, at least with your first character, and focus on the journey rather than being too keen to reach the destination. Given that most complaints people make about the game relate to the endgame, such as it is, why would anyone be in too much of a hurry to reach it? Relax, and enjoy  !
