As far as I know, that is one benefit of being invisible. Another benefit is that for at least one armor set -- I can't think of the name -- there is a 5-piece bonus for attacking while invisible (but attacking a target makes the invisible PC visible). Unless there is some Class, Armor, Racial or Skill passive that I don't know about, a PC cannot remain invisible indefinitely. The potions which I know that confer invisibility also don't last very long.

Amateur✭✭faced today with the same issue, when was attacked by templar and nightblade on Bruma(EU, trueflame). they were near me but invisible and i was able to attack them just only using aoe skills0
