Fun, Non-Optimal Builds?

Just want to see some fun builds you guys have been playing, mostly for RP or questing. Trying to get some ideas for a non endgame character, but also just out of curiosity for what others have fun playing.

Hybrids. It starts and ends with hybrids. All kinds of crazy things you can get away with if you don't intend to hit anything more taxing than a Dolmen.

    Stam dk:
5x Morag Tong (basic body pieces)
    5x Poisonous Serpent (head&shoulders + jewelry)
    vMA weapons (BiS)

Extremely good build^^ (veto for using it without mensioning my name lol)(have the pieces but i deleted my stam dk looool)

Mag nb: (concept for fun, but missing some parts)
2x Iceheart (Missing shoulder - deconstructed while ago and now saving keys for gear cap increase)
5x Winterborn (Missing 3 parts - vendored it while ago and now can't force myself to grind maelstrom even on normal)
3x Willpower/Moondancer/Aether (Don't have a skeleton and full gear so can't tell if epic willpower is better than gold moondancer/aether)
vMA Ice staves (deconed sharp staff ... now have only 1 precise staff)

Peeps say its very fun to roll a build like this^^

    Mag sorc:
    2x Ilambris
5x Burning Spellweave (4 body + back bar fire staff)
5x Moondancer (jewelry + 1 body piece + main bar fire staff)

Deadly if you get shadow blessing^^

Build for max magic on a mag sorc, use Necropotence, Will Power, and 2 seperate monster helm pieces that both give max magic for 1 piece. Master Destro if you got it, otherwise any destro will do.

Get the mage Mundus, and enjoy playing with mega shields and a pet that actually hits hard, because their damage scales off your max magicka.

Definitely not end game, but fun to play with.

Interesting. I have an imperial mag NB, he's fun to play, and I use frost staffs with him. Not the most powerful, but he doesn't go down easy. He's very low level, but since everything is scaled it's fine.

I like my fire DK healer. Uses a fire and resto staff in light armor. Lots of shields, fire breathing, fire explosions and fire walls! Good heals too.
Another favorite is my Daedric Summoner Archer. Two slots used for both sorcerer pets active, then three for bow skills with daedric curse that boosts pet damage.
Templar fire archer is fun. All the ranged Templar radiant fire spells plus ranged bow skills.

Yes, very nice for solo play, returning player who like the clanfear a lot now.
Has to see if it tank the stupid city guards who complains then this one looks in containers.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Well Questing is what I mostly do myself, so I guess I can chime in.

My StamBlade is my current "Do everything, Achieve everything" character at the moment.

5pc Hundings Rage, 3pc Agility, 2pc Selene's is what I used to be doing, though I put on a 5pc Viper's Sting to see what difference that made. Not much considering, it's only what people call "cheese" when combined with other proc sets.

Although here's a real oddball I made. My Stamina Dragonknight Sword and Shield DPS.

5pc Hundings Rage, 3pc Agility, 2pc Tremorscale. It's all about getting those Damage over Time abilities up like Noxious Breath, Venom Claw, and Poison Injection from your Bow which is on my back bar. Then I just wail with my Sword and Shield. Ransack is decent and it procs Tremorscale which is another 10-12k damage. It's actually viable in most PvE content, though I'd get trash talked and kicked if I tried going into Dungeons or god forbid a Trial with it.

Not in my dungeon groups. If it's on Normal mode I'll take anyone with any build quite gladly. :)

Your build sounds very interesting, I guess you could works as an off tank too?
In an discussion about sorcerer pet in dungeon, some guy was scary as an sorcerer tank in high end trials, as in managed to stay alive at end of wipe far longer than the standard DK tank, as he was alive then rest reached him after re-spawn.
Meta has been wrong many times before.

I did the the fighters guild build. I used a dk. Did nothing but fighters guild skills, essential defensive skills like volatile armor, igneous shields. Maxed weapon damage to take advantage of the fighters guild passives. Cp was layed out to do max damage with light and heavy attacks. It was actually a ton of fun in pvp.

If only the rune wasnt so expensive and last for such a short period. I do like it a lot.

I used to have a build that was made to be able to 1-hit most normal overland/delve/quest/public dungeon enemies. It was only good for the first hit, after that, it wasn't very good at all. It gave an interesting assassin-esque playstyle. I'd go into delves with the goal of trying to kill every enemy there all each with 1 hit, without being detected. It was quite difficult, especially when there were grouped up enemies in 3's, but it was still possible then - I'd have a high sneak speed and use the shadowstrike passive with heavy attacks to get passed those situations. Sometimes when I'd come across that lone enemy with no one nearby, I'd use my blade of woe instead, for a bit more fancy of a kill; wasn't good doing that around groups though, quite detectable.

Sadly it relied a lot on proc set crits, so it doesn't seem to work anymore after the latest update. Unfortunate, too, as I was real close to getting it to the point where I could kill 3 enemies with one use of the Shrouded daggers ability from the Dual-weild skill line. :P

I have fun with poison themed DK, that wears Eternal hunt and Senches. Other set gives more weapon power on roll-dodge, the other places poison rune on the ground on roll dodge. So I just keep rolling around and leaving deadly traps on my trail : D Added with poisoned dual wield and bow.

Magicka Nightblade, vampire 4th stage, Shadow Dancer's Raiment and Shadow Walker, and duals blades on main bar, skill used Concealed Weapon, Refreshing Path, Shadowy Disguise, Shadow Image you can literally blend in shadows, live in this dark world, move faster in sneak then on run in real world.
Good for RP, Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood quest missions, but have low damage in combat, I use it with Blade of Woe, but mostly just hide from direct confrontation, although this you can be good scout in AvA locations and sabotage siege engines and camps, you can stealthy repair walls behind enemy who bothered with siege of inner keep walls, so they cannot escape just easy from revenge of your team or recive reinforcements.

My main is a Hybrid build, major in Health with equal Stamina / Magicka. I am a DK woodelf focused on stamina poison & DoT attacks and werewolf with magicka abilities for a mix of heals and tankyness. I use Twin-star & Song of Lamae set for questing and Nights Silence & Song of Lamae for thieving :)

The actual focus of the build is for casual game-play, I do crafting mainly and quests / thieving / guilds on the side, the actual build mostly just works to keep me alive while im gathering and questing. I don't plan on doing any dungeons or anything and any PvP i do is mostly healing groups and repairing stuff so it works for my needs.

then I power slam, block, Absorb magic, Shielded assault, Deep slash. I use dragon knight since they have really good damage mitigation and survival tools. I gather as much as possible, put down standard and whack away.

Oh no, well, maybe. My character is in all medium to maximize damage output, even with the DK buffs my resistances arent Tank level. I guess if you put on all Heavy and put stam recovery glyphs on the jewelry then it could Tank a lot better, but the DPS aspect of it would be horrible.

The problem is your gonna be fine runnng most of this in the overworld, but that's the only place you -have- any leeway. DPS? You run the meta or you leave, that's why I mostly stopped playing this game.

Werewolf + Thunderbug set + Ashen Grip set + Ilambris set for a burning, blazing, raging machine. Not the greatest damage, but it's really fun for what you want to use it for. I put a fire damage glyph and a shock damage glyph on each of my dual wield weapons to help get Ilambris going.

Or you find a group that cares more about fun than the optimal efficiency.

The Guild I am in has all kinds of non-meta builds going on, and if we want to group up we do - if we fail, we have a quick convo on how we can improve and try again.

OK so we aren't running anything in super fast times - but then a lot of us are just hitting group content for the first time, so its still about learning what it going on and, more importantly, having fun.

    Argonian "shadow-scale" type of build.

    Stamina NB
    4 points in health
    60 points in stamina

    Mundus stone: The Shadow

    Bar 1: Dual Wiled Dagger
    Bar 2: Bow

At lest above 50% Weapon Critical on both bars.

It is not the "best" - maxing build - but fun to play. I will probably soon convert it to magicka NB (argonians have no bonus to max stamina, only to max magicka 3%)

Personally I love the look of Celestial armors, the chest and masks are so cool.

Already have a StamSorc for pve/questing with bow and 2H Sword with 5x Viper, 5x Hundings Rage, monster shoulder.
    N6Aekjw.jpg

My NB Nord tank wears it in heavy, Master Sword and a Board 5 x Torugs Pact to increase Sword potency, 5 x Green Pact to incr. health, monster shoulder and 2H Trinimac axe, probably one of the biggest and coolest axes in game so far :). I also like to quest with this one, especially dig the treasure chests since this one has the champion perk to increase quality of items.

2x Iceheart, 5x Winterborn, and anything else as long as you equip an Ice Staff.

Lots of fun to play and easy to acquire (normal/vet Maelstrom Arena and Direfrost Keep). Only the Iceheart shoulder may be diffcult to acquire due to RNG.

Ice Mages are a lot of fun!
