Master writs after a week

I've done crafting writs on all my master crafters every day since homestead dropped - which is 9 per day, or 45 total as of Friday eve. Out of those I got one alchemy and one enchanter Master Writ yielding a total of 4 writ vouchers. Painful isn't a strong enough word for this.

My wife did 5 writs and got a 86 voucher master writ which we sold for 700k so she had enough to buy another house for us... after I blew 11.4mil on all the manors

RNG goes both ways I guess

Edit: Also she's at like 4 traits and only has the basic motifs known as far as I know :D

I've received 2. Done a total of 84 writs, varying degrees of mastery on the two characters.

Personally I've given up trying to grind this, or even caring about it anymore. However, I do really wish the writ vouchers you receive as an award were account bound and not character bound. I mean the houses are shared by all your alts, but the vouchers are not? WTH!

edit: Got two more today, so I am now 4/96
edit 2 : And got 3 more the following day after edit 1, so I am now 7/108.
edit 3 : and 3 more for the second day in a row. Very streaky luck. 10/120.

I do all but provisioning writs on six toons. First day I got a master writ worth 287 vouchers. Haven't kept track of how many I've done, but I've gotten enough vouchers to buy the Ebony book, the basic target skeleton, and have 220 vouchers banked. (so 770 vouchers so far for me....with almost half of them coming from a single master writ)

So, either I've been extremely lucky, or it helps a lot to do your writs with a master crafter.

Almost know 9 traits 1/3 of all achievements in game, lots of Motifs....I got 2, 2s. Yeah I am doing something wrong.

I should have said may main crafter knows all trades and has high achievements in each trade - only missing a few items to be a full 9 trait armor/weapon crafter, and knows about 25+ of the 35 motifs. So, from what I understand, my main should have a better chance at getting master writs - yet nothing so far for him!

I don't mind RNG for some things, but I don't normally do writs as I feel they're an overall loss of time/materials. I get more gold materials from simply collecting/processing raw material. So, from my perspective, going after Master Writs doesn't feel worthwhile.

I know all motifs in the game, 9 traits in all weapons and armour, all skill levels maxed out on my main. Day 1 I got 3 writs, day 2 I go 2 and day 3 I got 1. Last 3 days I've gotten nothing. This really sucks, I would have thought i'd gotten more with all my crafting skills :(

We are in the same guild :D ...Small world, but yeah I know like 17 motifs.

Here's a tip for aclehmy remember to learn traits of flowers. I am sure that's the reason I got food and alchemy so far.

The one and only master writ I have gotten I can't make, of all the motifs I know Trinimac shields isn't one.
I will not buy Trinimac motif for 5000 crowns!
Will have to farm Wrothgar I guess, imagine if I didn't have the DLC.

And this is exactly why the system feels broken so far... There doesn't appear to have been a strong enough bias towards master crafter's with these writs.

So many people with virtually no crafting investment getting rewards way over those who have... All in the name of RNGeesus.

That would be near the top of the voucher rewards but yes they can get that high. Probably a Legendary, Nirnhoned, Rare Style, and 9 trait set combination.

I'm currently at 2 out of 30 writs (7%) for my main character and only 7 out of 300 writs (2%) for my other characters. Unsure if I've just been unlucky or that is representative of the master writ drop rate.

Agree. I got 4 Masters this week, one from an alt with a fraction of knowledge of my main, who was 100% in Craft Achievements. My first writ was a legendary staff worth 48 vouchers. I see now I made the right decision to craft it vs selling it. Gonna be a long grind to get anything worthwhile from the writ vendor.

I received many more vouchers my first day than I did the entire rest of the week, combined. My master crafter who knows almost everything didn't receive any more master writs over the course of the week than the two who only know some. There is apparently more RNG than skill involved in this system.

But I had enough vouchers to make my own target dummy so I can count that as a win.

@Cavedog It's supposed to be influenced by how many motifs and recipes you know, how many traits you have, etc. It does not appear to be working that way however, because in theory master crafters who know everything should have a pretty good drop chance compared to those who don't, but it seems like the master writs is nothing but rng regardless of what you know. Personally, I think the expensive writs should only drop for people who have a decent number of traits and know quite a bit, but I'm not a ZoS dev.

(so it was only an 8 trait item......maybe 9 trait items are worth even more?)

Still waiting for this to come to console but as I already do about 60 writs a day across 8 characters, I will 'carry on as normal' when the patch drops and see what happens.

I can understand the frustration for those who have started doing daily writs for the MW drops, but hopefully karma looks after some of us 'hard grafters' and I can get a reasonable return.

104 max level writs got me 6 masterwrits equaling 2,2,2,2,7,7 vouchers. And you can't even haul them in with another character to avoid that painfully silly charbound voucher system. The person who thought this up is trying to punish us for something. If I only knew why?
