Storage in new house

mtapub17_ESO
Is there a way or is there going to be a patch that will let you store excess inventory in a crate, barrel, chest, wardrobe, etc...in your house in Tamriel?

My guess is no or a very limited option (maybe 5 items per container). It will not be like your craft bag where items you pick up are automatically placed in it. If containers do become mini craft bags you can bet they will cost A LOT of Crowns.

    My opinion only.

It has been mentioned that it could come, eventually, though I expect it will not be like players want it since it cannot negate the need for bank space and such.

Basically, expect it to cost good gold.

I personally think everyone should have the choice to either place furniture up to the item limit of a home or use the same available space as storage instead.

I don't see them adding items that would negate items that cost crowns unless they cost crowns themselves.

There is no reason for them not to allow some storage and fun items to make it feel like a home. Other games do.

Have you maxed your bank and bag limits? zos cited the low percentage of players doing this as the reason housing has no storage. Of course, that could just be their BS excuse until storage is sold in crown store.

There's currently nothing in place and I'm not aware of any currently existing plans, however, ZOS could always change that in the future, possibly for either in-game gold or crowns or both. It's exactly what I want most from housing, too. I might still buy a house now, but I haven't decided yet. Meanwhile, I'm continuing to gather mats and new housing recipes, and I do enjoy the new Master crafting writs. I've gotten 3 so far. I was able to craft the first that I found, but the second one required a craftable set found only in IC, so since IC is the devil for me, I ended up swapping it with a fellow guild member. The 3rd I think I hafta buff up one of my skills, so I'll do that one eventually.

And you may be correct. At the very least we will have a choice to purchase it with crowns or gold as we do now.

It most certainly will not be mass storage is simply crafted. That much is obvious.

Yeah, I heard about that. This is my current bank/bag status. My bank is completely maxed, it took a good deal of gold. I've been faithfully doing the stable upgrades since I started playing in April 2016. 8 of 12 are completely done, and the last 4 characters that I bought with crowns are about 3 weeks away from completion. Finally, I've been doing the personal bag upgrades through in-game gold as well, and all 12 chars have done 5 or 6 of the 8 permissible upgrades, therefore, each of my 12 chars only have 2 or 3 to go, but those are by far the most expensive.

I guess I'm just one of those who haven't maxed out bank & bag, and one of the reasons that everyone can't have a little bit of storage in their homes. <grin>...

Bank and character space is sold in crown store, 1000 crowns for 10 slots, as gold price get more expensive crowns get more relevant as you start to max out.
House storage is likely to be less convenient than bank one as you have to go to your house to use it.

I would much rather see them expand the bank then add item storage options to housing.

How-ever... I want better -display- options for housing!

I want bookshelves that have inventory "slots" for furniture-books (and other objects like scrolls, potion bottles, soul gems or skulls), and can be filled with such, and then placed full of books and trinkets as one "object"!

I want armor stands that have inventory "slots" for armor pieces, and then can be placed displaying those as one nifty armor set!

I want weapon racks that have inventory "slots" for a couple of weapons, and then can be placed with them as one object!

And finally... I want to darn be able to cook something in my homes fireplace, not just turn it on and off!

First, they have said they knew housing storage was something folks wanted and it just did not make the cut for priority for day one release. there is no reason to doubt its coming.

Second, it will likely be crafted but you have to expect they wont allow crafted storage to invalidate the other forms of storage. Someone posted a request for having crates that could hold like 2500 spaces craftable... that was way over the top. i would not be surprised to find crates that hold 5-10-15-20 going up in cost/difficulkty to make. Remember you could have hundreds of these in a house.

third, i myself think "more storage" is the dead wrong approach. Right now i have well over 2k slots on one account... and so another 500 who cares? All it would do is buy me a little more time before i fill that up
    - just like every previous "if i buy more slots i will be good" raising of my capacity did. What we need is not a fourth mechanism for raising storage - added to horses, backpacks and banks all of which are cheap at the early stages.

IMO we need "better inventory" that can make what we have do more for us.

An example i use is this:
If i could craft "mannequins" that i could load up with a full set of gear like a character - 7 body, 4 weapons, 3 jewels, 8 quickslots" (either as new slots all their own or as locking up my slots) then i would start a plan to setup 2-3 per character as alternative load-outs. that would use up a fraction of my slots but allow me to have enough "focused targetted" on-hand goods that i could decon/sell/trash hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dozens of set pieces spread over all my characters now. it would change "how i accumulate" drastically and reduce my overall storage need massively. having those off and separate and sitting ready helps because then my actuall character storage would be more for "on the fly" accumulation." my bank would be for shared resources and - frankly - furnishings. Any "well lets gather this new set for mannequin" could work well too.

To me and for me, more slots would just be "a fix for a junkie" and only delay the return to the same out of space error.

There is a perfect plan. Create housing without storage. People begin to moan about it. Add crownstore future for 10k crowns. Always there are fools who will buy it

Always room for more storage in my opinion. I too would like to see functionality in the homes, fireplaces to cook in, etc.
