Why not have prisons and guards inspecting your homes

A few of us in my guild where talking about skyrim and how you had to escape from a prison, which got me think, why not have this in here, if you get caught for a crime then you are put in prison and ether have to escape or serve your prison sentence, also if your caught for murder you are hung.

this takes me also to the new update, why not let us steal things for our houses and let us put them up, and if a guard becomes aware of what we are doing they come to our homes and inspect them and if stolen goods are found we have to spend time in prison

Yeah but the fence will launder your stuff for you. I've stolen papers, an ink well and a quill, all laundered by the fence before being placed in my house.

As for the other part, why??? In a single player game that works. In an MMO, not so much.

Simple answer: Being locked in an MMO jail cell for a period of time is not fun.

I never found it fun in single-player TES games either. I have been arrested precisely once per TES game, if it happens again I think of it like dying and reload a saved game.

Also you already can steal items for your house. Not nearly as many as I'd like (I want to be able to use basically all the treasure items) but there are some.

I haven't checked to see if you can place them without laundering them first though. And once you've done that it's supposed to mean the guards can't tell if it's stolen or not.

    1. It's not a single player game meaning jail in an mmo would have to be created to handle hundreds if not thousands and be instances
    2. If this were added, would you be open to having all social and activity, campaign access disabled until you escape?
    3. In your own home or visiting others, why would you commit a crime anyways because access is only given to the trusted?

I think it's one of the thoughts ppl have from TES but it doesn't make practical sense as the world around you begs that ppl should then be able to break you out of jail, you should loose stats while in as well as gear. It's basically a request for parts of an enforcer system......no

It's basically the best way to upset hundreds of thousands and possibly cause them to quit or start to grief others.
