The idea of having again to grind for months all over to get all the bis gear for all 3 roles again, would me make so sick. I would leave instantly. 100% serious.

Or... when you quit the game, please don't come back and keep posting. There's nothing worse than a disgruntled player who continues to claim to have quit the game while constantly posting negative comments. If you're going to leave, then leave, and close the ESO door behind you please.

@Reco, ZOS says that when they raise the item cap again, it will be in a way that doesn't affect all the grinding done.

They said they know all the time invested in that grinding, the money invested in buying gear, the amount of temper used to make stuff legendary, the hours and hours grinding to get the needed trait, the amount of dungeon runs to get the 160CP monster masks, etc.

They know the effort we did and so, I understand, they will raise the cap in a way that your items will still be max CP level.

You won't have to grind again.

Here is what was already said about this is other threads:

    In english:
Once again: Details will be published when we have them.

Everyone here is aware of how hard it is to get those weapons in the perfect trait and how many golden tempers have to be used.
In case we were to increase the gearcap, it would not happen thoughtless, to make all your efforts meaningless.

One Tamriel applies to whole Tamriel, including Vvardenfell. Monsters have the same level everywhere, players are being adjustet accordingly.

So bottom line: A new gearcap will be happening, they just don't want to kill the mood right now

    and:
To clarify, we do not plan on raising the gear cap when Morrowind launches in June. We’ll let you know when we plan to raise the gear cap in the future, but it won’t be in Homestead or Morrowind.

So the gear cap will be increased at some point, but it will be done in a way that will not eliminate current CP 160 gear completely. And there are 3 ways ZOS can do this:

    1. Make it possible to upgrade CP gear (no matter their CP level, you will be able to upgrade for exemple CP 150 gear to CP 160 gear and then upgrade CP 160 to 170 etc.).
    2. Auto upgrade CP 160 to new cap when ZOS will increase the cap.
    3. Or just make a CP gear with no rank that will scale automaticity with your current CP level (the CP gear will auto level with you).

How much will an cp increase of 10 change the gear stats?
You old gear is still as good, not only the best.

I tell you that is worse: We will get new sets if not with Morrowind but with later dlc, some will be better than current ones.
Then you will need to farm them to get the best set.
With the downside is that you will need an full set to get the benefit, with cp170 you could simply upgrade your existing set piece for piece.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

it's an mmo that will probably (and hopefully) continue for a couple more years, there's nothing like "end of grind" and have top stats and sit content.

I do hope they raise the cap and make it interesting as well, together with new gear and perhaps jewelery crafting, that would make a lot of sense.

I want to show this topic (and ones like it) to the people who insist that the only way for an MMO to survive is to have regular vertical progression (aka gear grind).

For myself I don't worry about it because after 2 years I've come to the conclusion that I will probably never reach the point where I've got a full set of matching BIS gear, so I'm not going to try, I'll just use whatever I find or can craft without too much trouble.

But I can imagine how frustrating it is for people who not only have reached that point but who consider it important because they want to do things like compete on leaderboards where you need that BIS gear.

I'm glad they're not planning to increase the cap any time soon as I hope if/when they do they find a fair way to do it that doesn't just invalidate hours of effort and make people feel like they're back at square one.

I have gold bis gear on 4 characters accept 1 sharp maelstrom flame staff (400+ runs in still no luck) and if i heard zos say "we are raising the gear cap have fun" i would be absolutely fine with it. A new gear and material grind would be fun, crafted sets would be valuable, for a little while, it could end up pushing most of the proc sets out of the picture, and they could add a few new interesting sets, like with the white gold city update, it was fun being pushed into new content, it was challenging. They could even make the next mat tier glow, that would be pretty cool.

To all the people who will quit for whatever reasons, please delete all of your accounts (main and alt ones) and the game from steam (if possible). This way, ZOS can´t tell us they have 7 million accounts playing this game or just 1% of those 7 million have maxed bag space and thus they haven't implemented storage on houses.
