Physical Collector's Edition or Digital Collector's Edition

I love ESO, I really do, and ever since ZoS announced Morrowind, I've been torn at whether I should get the physical collector's edition or the digital (for Xbox One). There are pros and cons to both. Physical would mean I would have to uninstall the digital copy of the game and reinstall the physical copy. And for my extremely slow Wi-Fi it'd take about a 5-7 days to reinstall everything. But I really want the statue and everything else that comes with the physical CE. But if I get the digital CE, it's cheaper, I wouldn't have to reinstall the game, and Morrowind would be downloaded a little earlier, so that the second it comes out, I can just play it. But, I don't get the physical items that go with the physical version. For the foreseeable future, let's say I still can't find a job and that I can't upgrade my Wi-Fi. So I'm left with deciding either the physical CE or the digital CE, and having to deal with the consequences. I really can't decide, so I hope the community will do it for me. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the XBox, do you really have to do a new install?

For me it was a simple decision, I looked at the book and I wanted it.

Just to help you and anyone else out on this.

Morrowind is an add-on and not like the other DLC so typically ordering either will result in a digital add-on to your account

The only difference are the physical items
If you or anyone else really wants the physical items, I'd say go for it cause you cant go wrong and you'll also have a disc to sale for $15 or so

Physical CE

I know more and more games are going digital download only to maximize profits (this has kept me from buying many games I've been interested in) but I prefer to have a physical copy to add to my game collection. My game room is lined with bookshelves that are stuffed all the games I've played for the past 30 years. It kinda looks like a game library.

on xbox there is no disc update.
Its an add-on the game is going to update automatically. Your access to the content is determined if you purchased the expansion. Files will update just like they've always have.

I am assuming Morrowind is purely an expansion, meaning it does not include the base game and should be able to install alongside my digital imperial edition. This is one pc.

I have both of those as well, and they sit comfortably in my library, becoming more valuable over time.

You can only sell the disc if you're playing on console.

On PC you can't play the game if you only have the disc, you also need a key code to make an account and those can only be used once each. Most shops are aware of that and won't buy used copied of online games.

In general I prefer physical copies too. But that's because I like to re-play games months or years (or decades) after they were released so I don't want to risk losing it, which is more likely with a digital copy, and I certainly don't want to rely on DRM (even DRM dressed up as a service as it often is these days) to allow me to play the game because then I can lose access any time the developers or publishers decide not to support it any more.

But all that's irrelevant with an online game. I can only play it as long as the servers are up and as long as they are it'll be possible to re-download the game (on PC, not sure if they offer this on console), so it doesn't matter if my copy is digital or not.

I will probably go with the physical one and *gasp* actually let my son play with the statue.

Also, I won a free Xbox so having a second disc will allow aforementioned son to play at the same time.

Too many upcoming games to be thinking about this at this moment to be honest. Mass Effect, Nioh and Horizon being the main ones. Will pre order closer to the time and if like all pre orders do, drop in price, I'll buy a physical copy.
