I am waiting on a crown sale before I buy one larger house. That gives me plenty of time to gather mats and blueprints.

1 medium and 1 large. Thinking about one of the manors but I have more than enough room in the other two at this point for everything I have and much, much more.

Only got the free room from the quest.

atm, prices for blueprints and crafting materials for furnishing are high, so I'd rather sell everything related to furnishing.

Will probably buy a house for gold (from my ESO+ membership) later this year when the market for furnishing is saturated and prices for blueprints and materials drop.

Until the housing system is vastly improved I'm going to hold off. I am very excited for the day the housing system is actually fun and useful though. If that day never comes then I'll just stick to enjoying hideout creation in Path of Exile.

And I will proceed no further until they add storage. I see no point in investing in something that's not only utterly useless but also a time and resource sink. I will collect blueprints and crafting materials in the mean time. I have enough gold to purchase all 3 castles and become count, but why would I do that?

I find it too tedious for something that is barely more than aesthetic. I'd rather just pick out my favorite place in game and then declare it my home. I can role play a squatter.

I've decided to not participate in Housing due to a few decisions regarding how it works that were made for reasons I do not agree with.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Well right now the votes are pretty much what I expected. Many people are not willing to spend crowns for a house because many of us are waiting for something better with more functionality. Besides STORAGE, lets have our own fishing ponds, or a place we can grow Alchemy ingredients, have our own housecarl, etc. I don't think housing is useless, but I think most of us expected something a bit more than what we have now. I don't think Homestead is useless as I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who are just happy with decorating, but I'm just not one of them :)

Only received the free quest reward broom closet... I mean inn room and have no intentions of purchasing a home or ever using the housing feature in it's current state.

The housing (IMO) is terrible; lazy and lacking many features found in other MMO housing systems (EQ2, Rift, DAoC, FFXIV, etc...). Houses are all copy and paste from other buildings and NOT unique. The prices are absolutely ridiculous (gold and especially crowns) for the size and lack of functions. No storage, pets can be placed but they don't roam around or have any interactions and just do their little animations in the static spot you placed them in. Just to name a few of the issues. EQ2 has a much better and far superior housing system and is a 12 year old game.

I love ESO and can't wait for Morrowind but Homestead was a complete let down. Thankfully it was a free update and hopefully ZOS will only improve on it over time.

and about 1.5 mill in stuff to furnish it.

11k crowns worth it? that's like 60 euros\dollars, that's an entire *** game, sorry but i just can't see how it's worth it.

For some people $60 is not a lot of money.

I am waiting to see how much of a PITA it is to get blueprints and furnishing items along with the writ vouchers.

So far I have only gotten one master writ that gave me 2 vouchers out of 18 writs I did on my master crafter that has all crafts maxed, traits reseached and most of the motifs known. I have 3 other crafters that have max cloth, wood and metal crafting. Out of 36-39 wirts I got no master writs from them so I have given up on doing writs on them until I do some more trait research on them because its a waste of mats and I cant keep up with the mat drain.

If that kind of rate continues, it wont be worth buying a house that will take 10 years to furnish. I already have one job that actually gives me real money and paid for my real house. I am not going to make ESO into a job to furnish a virtual house.

No, I'm not much on vanity-only items. Fancy mounts, non-functional housing, etc, doesn't interest me much.

I might eventually get the room from the quest, but I have no real interest in the major grind to furnish it with vanity items.

There are a lot of blueprints for sale at guild stores now, and some furniture (I listed some stuff I made for my house to see if it would sell). Mats are hard to get at a good price though. I would expect there to be more available by the weekend when more people have time to play. You really only need the master writs for crafting stations and target skeletons, and some people are even selling those.

Basically I wouldn't expect it to take anyone years to furnish a house, but it may take a couple weeks, maybe a few more weeks if you don't want to buy plans or mats from other players.

I bought mournoth with gold. I like it but I really want the demesne large home. It's the only one that doesn't look like something I've seen in the game a hundred times. And it actually has rooms. Now if only gold wasn't so hard to come by

I will get the free ones this weekend. But that's. Housing is not useful for me if there is no means to store stuff. Getting the DPS dummy is my goal but I am too bored of doing crafting writs (just finished doing these on all my 12 characters about 3 weeks ago).

Got the Sleek Creek Rawl`Kha house for gold. Much sweetness :) . Wanted that house even before housing came to PTS, was often eying it from the rocks above and started saving for it well in advance.
Now I could even afford a couple of small to medium houses more, or maybe save a bit to get the Gorinir estate for my bosmer - I like the jungle ambient sounds so much in that one.
Been quite lucky to get nice blueprints from drops or trading some from others, and selling my unwanted blueprints in guild stores so crafted furnishing has not been costly and I`ve been able to afford some nice achievement furnishings too.
Ive really enjoyed Homesteads, very happy, though the furnishing mats drops seem a bit low/require determined farming.

I've got three free inn rooms as I have multiple characters from all three alliances (and continue to receive the quest on my other characters, not sure where that will lead me). I've also bought Captain Margaux's Place in Daggerfall because it is so central to the facilities I use regularly. I used crowns as I don't participate in the trading system so don't have much gold, want my houses furnished with a view to topping them up from crafting rather than fitting them out from scratch, and don't have anything else to spend my subscription crowns on. I shall shortly be buying Hunting's on the same basis as well as it's the most attractive of the largest houses/manors so far as I'm concerned.

I don't role-play with others or have in-game friends or guilds so other players visiting doesn't come into it, but I have always enjoyed the extra dimension that housing brings to MMOs especially through the furnishings, displays, harvesting and crafting etc. In this case the travel options are an added benefit too. I really like the way that ZOS have implemented the housing system, it's very close to that in EQ2 which is the best system I've encountered previously.

I wouldn't get to concerned about how many people were excited about housing. ESO's community has never been broadly enthusiastic about it, its more of a thing for RP and ERPers. Only a narrow segment is going to care a lot about it, an it will be that narrow segment that is critical about it as well.

I think they did a fine job with it, it's finished and now they can move on to content more adventurous than interior decorating.
