I made a Dunmer that I want to start training up horse skills for Morrowind and will probably play him through DB and TG until then. I'm going for a dashing Dunmer vibe, hit with the ladies and makes men question themselves. I need to edit his look though, he pretty much looks like he has walked into a glass wall daily and has a squished up face. He's a roguish NB not sure if magicka or stamina yet.

His head slider is currently in the lower middle off a wink toward the soft side. I have trouble with cheekbone height and size, I can't really get them right. Eye, nose, and mouth height too. I spent an hour making him and then the game froze, so my second attempt was a bit hate filled.

I want his face to be on the softer side with some sharp features. Also he is a vampire if that matters.

Please, Dunmer lovers and makers, send advice and tips! Thanks! imgur.com/a/AlESI

I would offer advice, but on console the difference between what we create in the creator screen and what we get in the actual game can be night and day due to the different lighting that's used. To get the Nord I wanted in-game and the one I would see, I had to use an extra character token to move the sliders around. She looked a bit off in the creator, but fine in-game as I just took a mental note of which features were wrong and adjusted them just so.

What I usually do, for a more balanced face on my Dunmer, is to place the face slider in the middle circle, where it favors the side you are trying to go for. If you want a more angular Dunmer, place it in the middle circle closer to the angular side, and so on. Of course, this is only for more "dashing" characters, and with my more alien Dunmer I usually place it much closer to the angular triangle corner.

I am usually able to do the same, but I guess male Dunmer are unique for me in that I can't get their faces right because I don't exactly have a feel for how to post-tweek them. My female Dunmer is a goddess =P

Yea, slide is def in the middle area for this one, I guess i need to focus more on the smaller details until I get it right. I might wait to see more responses here and delete him and try again.

dunmers have naturally harder sharper features- so u want to go the softer side, and in a sense- humanise them more- make them less elvish and more human- they come off a bit easier on the eyes i find..
so decentuate the cheekbones, make the jawline wider so he s less angular, and round out as much u can . that will help and u ll find urself a handsome dunmer looking back at ya

Thanks, good advice. I did make his a jaw a little wider but I feel like it gave him fat-baby-face haha

I'm going to try and post a photo.

Lol, that is usually the opposite of what I do. I always try to make the features obvious, as they define the Dunmer. The key, for me, is not to humanize them: On the contrary; it is to make them more aesthetically pleasing within their culture and standards. I would not reccomend taking away the narrowness of a Dunmer face, but instead, shaping the rest of the face to it, giving it a more natural look, while still retaining its alien qualities.

Yeah, I would definitely reccomend keeping the Dunmer's angular look, and instead shape the rest of the face to it. Keep the eyes narrow. Thin the nose. Shrink the jaw. If you get the features to fit together, it looks much more natural than an artificially 'humanized' Dunmer. Of course, that doesn't mean go full out angular on the slider. There are extremes, and it should definitely be towards the middle, or even towards soft. You can easily angularize a smooth face with the sliders, giving you a "dashing" look, while keeping the Dummer feel.

Thanks, @MythicEmperor, I think that might work angularizing a soft face. I may have went too soft on everything.

Check how I manage to make my Dunmer look like a Dunmer but still keep him sexy. Isn't that the look you want to go for? " hit with the ladies and makes men question themselves." :P

Don't make them look like humans with grey/green skin like the Morrowind trailer did. Dunmer need angular, alien faces, a beautiful oddity to look at.

Another tip is try to play with the age slider. Making them older usually helps a little than having a fresh baby face
