We need more Heartwood!

Market situation with Heartwood is not right and healthy - we need it lot more.
This is how it goes on PC EU:
First day prices for new mats started really good, not overpriced - about 300 gold/each except Wax. People was ready for new mats, farm it and place in guild stores. But shortly after we realize that demand of Heartwood is very higher than its existance in Tamriel. Starting evening 7 February and till now you can't find Heartwood in guild stores at all, no single piece in Belkhart, Rawkhla, Mornhold. The last offers that you can find in small stores in corners of Tamriel is 3.5k - 5k each, 10 times more expensive than original price.
When you buy a house, first of all you want big wooden furniture - table, chairs, bed, bookshelf, nightstand, desk. Obviously, we need more heartwood than any other furniture material. Crafters can't craft this furniture because Tamriel doesn't have enough Heartwood. I 'm actually ok with reasonably high prices but I can't buy it at all!

ZOS, please, reconsider drop rate of Heartwood.

After a couple of hours of questing in Craglorn, I had about 20 Heartwood, just by gathering all the glowing stuff. Just wait for people to farm it more

Patience, give it a few weeks and each players finite demand coupled with the rampant farming I'm seeing will drive the price through the floor, it's the same with motifs, don't buy on launch day at huge cost, wait a couple of weeks and buy the lot for a fraction of the cost

Its not that simple. People allways try to find a way to take advantage. If it is like you say - just farm, wait another player to farm, guild stores would be full of Heartwood, but they are not. By the way, 20 pieces isn't enough to craft furniture for one room.

    THIS.

Heartwood is the only material I'm having a hard time with, because everything I craft takes loads of it. They NEED to raise the drop rates on heartwood. Please, ZOS! :'(

People are busy crafting which reduces what is available to sell. Of course it may be Zos has to low of a drop rate but it is clear demand would be high right now as expected.

Are people seriously making forum posts because the gold sink is too much of a gold sink only a day after it launched?

@SunfireKnight86 As I said, I'm ok with high prices. Yes, it should be gold sink in first days. I have played market last two days, was very concentrated on bying and selling furniture plans, crafted furniture and materials.
I just say what I see - Heartwood drop rate is not balanced with other mats. Its not right that you can't buy new material in first days, people are very interested in selling it, but they can't.

Its not first day problem, its common inbalance and it will be more obvious with time.

So, does Bosmer folk craft furniture using heartwood as well as other races, or do they have some other types of recipes, more lore friendly? Like bones from mobs they killed, etc?

Tens of thousands of people have at least one home. Many will have multiple homes. It's gonna take weeks for the system to even out, and I like that. It's working as intended. The whole point was to create a gold sink that didn't also create a power vacuum, and by keeping the items as semi-rare, it does that.

This would be so much less satisfying if you were creating a rooms worth of furniture every day. Relax! Enjoy it!

I have seen that posting numbers is a good way of attracting Dev's attention to an issue.

If we actually log the number of furniture Mats vs regular Mats for all types, we can check the ratio and report how severe the imbalance really is, if it is there, I cant really give my opinion as I have not harvested enough mats yet to draw a conclusion.

If you have a craft bag, then you can follow this method:
    1. Note down the number of Ore and Regulas, call it O1 and R1 respectively, after harvesting these numbers will increase, so call it O2 & R2
    2. Wood and Heartwood, call it W1 and H1, after harvesting, W2 & H2
    3. Leather (L1) and Pelt (P1); L2 & P2
    4. Alchemy (A1) and Alchemical Resin (Ar1); A2 & Ar2
    5. and so on

Once you have the numbers, check these ratios:
    1. Regulas:Ore = (R2-R1)/(O2 - O1)
    2. Heartwood:Wood = (H2-H1)/(W2-W1)
    3. Pelt:Leather = (P2-P1)/(L2-L1)
    4. Alchemical Resin:Alchemy = (Ar2-Ar1)/(A2-A1)

This will clearly allow for a complete analysis of drop rates, there should be at least 500+ regular mats farmed for a good approximation of the drop rate ratio, higher the harvested regular mats the more accurate the approximation will be.

I know this is very nerdy approach, but you have to remember that all the Devs are nerdy, and if we speak their language, we are bound to get some type of response. So numbers will speak louder than words in this case.

Furniture made of wood should just contain wood and iron nails. I don't know why they choose to create furniture with rare and odd materials. I rather sit on the floor then.

It will get better but the material has only just been added to notes and in high demand right now as everyone rushes to build.

The drop rates are fine, and prices will improve and steady out over the next months as with all new items added to an MMO.

I don't understand why the furniture mats don't drop from survey nodes. I'm not asking for increased chance during a survey mode, just ANY chance, even the regular drop rate. It's just silly that these nodes are excluded.

I'm not having trouble finding mats, I'm just pointing out something ghost doesn't make sense.

Also is it just me or did they change the fish filleting animation?

Because everyone would (was) hoarding them up for release.
There is no reason these can't be added in future, but ZOS need to do it without an announcement so people can't stock up read for it.
