Zenimax Online creative team just made average housing system. They didn't try hard, they just met a goal
I played many mmo's with housing systems. The best was SWG's. Others which where or are good:
    EQ2
    Vanguard
    ArcheAge
    Black Desert Online
    Shroud of the Avatar

I did not like SWTOR's and Ryzom's was very basic (but still there)

I find this housing system very below average currently. Houses are not interesting to buy and look exact like the houses i break into. Copy+paste. One problem is, there is no reason to come to the house. Most games fix that by adding the option to store stuff or put a crate in the house and store it there.

SWG's was the best. Every item in the game had a 3d object which could be placed in the house. No limits.
second i loved Vanguards. You actually has to build the house from the ground up crafting it, placing stones.
EQ2's was also very robust and good and i loved living in the slums
Because SWG and Vanguard are shut down, currently i think BDO has the best housing system.

But i am sure, once morrowind releases, some updates/features have come. Currently the decoration system works very in ESO's housing system which is a huge plus.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I don't like this system in any game. But I think they did a decent job with the limited resources they had and I'm sure it will get much better from now on.

It's typical in ESO, you have a semi tough start but it then gets to awesome level (well except Cyrodiil).

It's just time consuming to develop the fundamentals to the many systems in homestead. But once launched I'm quite sure they'll do awesome stuff in the future.

    Ya'll are too nice.

I feel like it should be hardly anyone that votes they were innovative and exceeded expectations.
I feel like this generation is too nice to everyone, and that people cater to them by being PG, and that in some things, there really is no improvement at all.

Apple and Oranges all you want.
I feel like video game industry is like the WWE industry.
    PG Era
Gotta be careful to not put too much violence, too much things that are offensive, to go above and beyond because of the person with opposite viewpoint will bring you down.

I'd like video games to be great again, GTA 3 era, Quake 1, heads flying across map when someone dies, mortal kombat type of brutality. Think of who plays ESO, is it really people under 17 years old and not mature enough to see hardcore mortal kombat blood and gore, or is it young professionals who are mature?

Just like WWE. Whose really watching it most of the time. Is it really necessary to cater to PG era?

Too many, I dont want to voice my opinion because people will attack me type of attitude people around here. This poll in my mind, based on what I seen from older games, what technology we have today. The polls should be that they did a terrible job when you compare its work to other games.

As with other games, little improvement happens after the initial launch too, everyone is always hopeful, but nothing really gets done till years later, and by that time, the game is considered old.

"ehh, i dont like how the OP worded these, its not PG enough for me, so I go lenient, I'm a PG type person, always say nice things even though i seen stuff better made 10 years ago, and thats half my lifetime, so this housing system... is bad because 10 year old stuff was better, I'm PG tho, so nice things and those bad ones are worded too harsh for me to pick it even though its true"

Those games to think about, in my personal opinion have a better housing system, and for you guys to bring up SWG which I never played and a few other games that has better system and is 10 years or older too. In a business point of view... If you make a new product that is pretty much worse than a similiar product 10 years ago... Is that a good thing? Is that bad? Or is that REALLY bad? 10 years is a long time ago. To me, thats very sad. 10 years ago, I think 2GB RAM was considered high quality, 512GB storage was considered a lot... We have so much better technology... Space. Yet this is what we get? I'm not going to be lenient on these guys. I'm not going to accept, games have been in a rut for a long time and consider this game good, because we been getting crap games for a long time and should be used to it.

The system to place objects is good, but the copy paste of buildings that there were alerady in game is lazyness, so it's in average.
