Game constantly crashing

  • PoisonHorse
I wish it only lasted a week for me. This has been on going for quite some time now and the outlook just isn't too good. It is at the point now where we have practically ruled out everything on my end so I don't know what is next.

I'm hoping that a complete reinstall will work for me now that I switched to 64 bit, we'll see though

This is clearly a widespread problem. I never used to crash. Now it happens pretty much every time I play, often after porting from one place to another.

Today I am now running into issues with the game constantly crashing every couple of hours. This has happened to me 5 times today... I have sent in a crash report each time.

This is getting extremely annoying now
Far too many characters to list any more.

Well, my problem is during the day and only started happening right after One Tamriel Update. Before that, I had no issues.
I get logged out to login screen once an hour without any error or message but at night everything runs smoothly. Maybe because the server is not so busy at night?

Already contacted support but they ran around the issue and unfortunately they didn't helped much
That is really frustrating while doing vet Trials or speed runs / no death runs or anything else honestly.

Hopefully, this will be fixed on this next patch?
    Fingers crossed.

And...still crashing all the time, especially after transiting. This really makes me want to download Witcher 3.

I can't play for more than a few minutes before getting kicked back to the login page.

I made sure my video drivers were updated, and tried running the program as admin. Neither made any difference. Is my GeForce 550 Ti just not good enough? I'm sure my RAM and processor are okay.

Ever since Saturday's patch the game has been crashing constantly. I can't open a door, speak to an NPC or even switch characters without a crash.

    ZOS : I have a question.

Do you people know what might cause such a constant crashing ?
I don't know maybe my windows are bad , maybe something with configurations isn't good.
Maybe some virus defected gaming files. I don't know if I should reinstall windows format discs and write per new fresh ESO client. But I get daily game crashing like 5-10 a day. Yesterday we had a huge pvp event i Cyrodiil. I wished to take some action but after 3 hours i quited. And I'm not sure If ever going to PVP events. 5 Crashes in 40 minutes... What I do?

Example : You go to siege you place siege gun you aim... Bamp Crash! Relaunch game log player - 5 minutes+ infinite Cyro loading screen. Alt+F4 . Reload game log in 2nd character -> Log out. Log in main character. Bampt! Eror even on Cyrodiil loading screen. Reload game per new log in same player -> infinite Cyro loading screen -> alt+F4 , reload game log in another character -> log out , Log in main character. You lie dead , siege is like 15 minutes+ over... You storm another fort you run like 10 minutes you make siege then you storm gates 5 minutes later. Bampt Error! This happened few more times like that So I decited to give up and beg people that knows about this issue for some help , advice or support.

I can't play this game as it used to feeling like a disabled person begging for new legs even if I should had legs made long time ago as a standard basis ...

Have a nice day I hope some 1 knows how to help me fix this issue. If some 1 does I'll be best friend in game for ever ^^

It is getting worse. Now my game times out as I switch between characters. Whenever I open a dialogue with an NPC or open a door my game crashes.

My game has been crashing constantly too for about the last week. Seems like it started right after 2.6.9 (PC).

Sometimes it crashes as soon as I load into a character. Or anywhere between 5-30 minutes after. Always crashes to desktop with the error log.

I have reinstalled video drivers, but it only seems to happen with ESO. I will do some.mlre troubleshooting specific to ESO like disabling addons, but nothing has changed in that regard anyway... The game just suddenly became very unstable. Only thing that happened recently was the 2.6.9 patch.
  • Aistis1990
I think there's a bug within a patch that for some PC with certain configurations or OS game constantly crashes. Should start from there ;)

So I have returned to necro the crap out of this thread with some follow up.

I have tested the client on many configurations in multiple desktops with AMD 390x and Fury; Nividia GTX 680, 960 and 1080 and varying monitor setups. It turned out in my testing that none of the listed graphics cards would recreate the crashes I experienced in ESO. The one thing that would cause a crash every time was when the client was run on a PC with an ultrawide monitor (21:9) attached or a multi-display setup. This was regardless of the PC and graphics card that was being used. If I ran the client on a PC with only a single 16:9 1080p monitor attached I did not experience the random crashes that always occur within 10 minutes of game play.

Not sure if anyone else has a similar setup (display) that has experienced this issue. Tech support was not able to assist me in finding the root cause after a month of testing every fix they had (and even some pretty imaginative stuff) with the tech support team and so I have come to the conclusion this is MY problem since my own experimentation lead me to this conclusion.

EDIT: Also wanted to add that if I run the game in windowed mode at 1920x1080 I did not experience the crash on the 2650x1080 Ultrawide monitors.

Did you update your AVM-Routers (Fritz-Box) to 6.80 ? Maybe there is the Problem. In Germany most Players with the same Problem updated recently. Btw., i just played 2 hours after i disabled my Kaspersky Suite and switched Launcher and both (32+64bit) Clients to Administrator.

If you are talking to me, I am not in Germany and do not have a Fritz-Box. I haven't lived in Germany for 3 years, I am in the U.S. now.

If any of you are still having trouble with an instant black screen crash after pressing play. With the error "Elder scrolls online has stopped working" Try uninstalling your Intel HD graphics driver and letting your computer restart and re install the base version of the driver. In this case none of the fixes or updates worked, but de updating, Or reverting the driver to the base version was the fix that worked. It now works perfectly fine. (Housing Update) 2017.

@AzuraKin, please ensure your video driver is selecting the correct GPU for ESO by opening either the NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Catalyst Control Panel and ensuring that ESO64.exe is making use of your primary GPU.

If that does not help please submit a ticket to our support team and be sure to include your complete game consultant.

As noted at the top, this is an issue that has been going on for months and months. It's not like you (ZOS) haven't had a LOT of tickets on the issue. The result of the tickets I have submitted have always been the same generic "try these opetions" response that ofcourse don't work at all.
It seems that an attempt will be done in 2017 to deal with instabilities in Cyrodiil. How about working on overall stability too? It would be greatly appreciated by a lot of people (I should probably use the word 'expected' instead of 'appreciated' here, but we are way past the point where I expect any fixes. I only dream about them, and get pleasantly surprised when they happen).
