Will Warden bring in Spellsword skill?

Just an hypothesis, but could the warden class bring along the spellsword skill line that much of the community has been clamoring about? My theory is pretty weak, I'll say so from the start, but in the trailer the warden is seen wielding a one handed sword while casting spells from the offhand... Considering most of TES players have gone with a character like that, it could be the right time to bring in a spell and sword skill for true battlemages... right?

Look at the other trailers. The Elf Hero for example does the same thing. I think you're reading too much into it.

As dday3six said, this is no different than the altmer in the original game trailer using a sword and lightning.

Cinematic trailers are, unfortunately, not an accurate representation of the game. Technically ANY class can be a "spellsword" right now by using a melee weapon and class-based spells. We're unlikely to ever see a 1h/spell weapon setup, this game simply wasnt built around that kind of playstyle.

I do, however, think that the warden will probably be a better class for true hybrid builds than the others. All 4 of the current classes in the game were originally built around magicka and spellpower for all of their class skills. Adding stamina morphs and changing those to use weapon damage was an afterthought made when the devs realized they screwed up the options for stamina builds.

With the warden being developed after all of those mistakes, however, I expect to see the active and passive skills from the warden's trees offering a little more versatility between stamina and magicka. With how much demand there has been for hybrid builds to be improved, there may be more synergies between the two resources for the warden class than other.

I think the OP wants something like dragon age (forgot the latest one but the one with the rifts) one character was able to conjure a sword with her magic and use it to deal damage to her foes (which is pretty strong lol). If they do bring that, well it would certainly make it interesting to see in action especially if it could different elemental damage.

I always wanted a spellsword. Some of the NPC mages have an ancient elf sword and cast spells with the other hand. I kinda get jealous. That being said, at the end of the day it is ZOS' call.

Spell sword line should have been put in at the beginning since it's one of the major ways to play TES games. Sadly I doubt we'll see it any time soon if ever.
