Couple landscaping questions/comments for housing

Landscaping is my primary interest in housing, but I haven't found any information or recipes that would lead me to believe that "crafting" plants, shrubs, trees, rocks, etc. is supported. I see there are plants available from vendors (haven't found rocks), with full size trees being fairly expensive (20,000 g), and of course everything is available for crowns. Just wanted to check before spending coin/crowns.

I think these types of items are good additions to the crown store so long as the prices are kept reasonable; however, I find the crown store item preview to be only partially helpful for landscaping because it's hard to grasp the scale of an item. It would be much nicer if we could preview them in-place, or at least use a default location in your house/yard to show the preview such that you can understand it's relative size and/or how well it blends.

As far as I've seen so far it's not possible to craft plants or rocks. Even on the PTS when we had all (?) the recipes unlocked automatically we weren't able to craft them.

I have seen a few rocks available for gold (from the vendor in Skywatch if I remember correctly) and several vendors have plants and trees but I don't know yet if they're all available or if some are crown-store exclusive.

(I actually think it would be extremely helpful if ZOS labeled any crown store exclusive furnishings, I'm expecting to pay a mix of gold and crowns to decorate my house and if I knew which ones were exclusive I could get on and buy them instead of holding off in case I find it for gold somewhere.)

Were you on the PTS? The alternative is that the preview camera doesn't pan, so you see the tree in place, but you can't actually see the tree, because it's too big for the screen.

Use the tiled floor for scale. Select a chair to preview, to get a sense of how big that is, then select your tree and compare tiles. It's not ideal, I know, but it's better than the alternative.

And yeah, the vendors do sell rocks, too. The vendors in different zones sell different landscaping items according to their zone... so if the one you looked at didn't have rocks, check one in a different zone.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Wasn't on PTS, but using a chair to get a sense of scale works OK.

    Thanks

It appears many plants and trees may come as a default with the yards of even unfurnished homes. I haven't tried moving any yet, but the palms in Hunding Palatial Hall highlight white in the editor. That's good because I could never find them on any vendor, Alkr Desert's seemed to be missing plants from their vendor.
