I got me little room, it came with a candle. I put the candle on the wodden stool that I brought.

Then I asked Pirharri to wait for my command in the other (dark) corner - how does she hide so good (?) - and my little Freddy Fiendroth is keeping her company.

Small beginnings for a humble adventurer. Now I will think hard about how I could craft a table!

The good thing about Homestead for me is, I can make more money selling mats and blueprints :)

    Other than that, no.

I don't get their storage decision..

I mean, from my own perspective, I don't have maxed out storage. BUT my Inv is ALWAYS full - on my main, my bank and my 3 mules (yes I DO have ESO+)

Why isn't my storage maxed? Well for one, it's damned expensive - and I don't have much cash. In fact most of my early cash went on bag upgrades...

"Sell some stuff then!" I hear.. but then I have to do the whole merchants guild thing - which means taking an active part in another guild, knowing prices, and understanding the market.. Well, that's just an aspect of the game I don't want - so I just either decon or keep stuff (hence no gold and no bagspace).

"But you can buy space with crowns".. I can - and I do. All my ESO+ coins since 1T is going on inv space.

Now here's whey it doesn't make business sense.... They brought in the crates from the crown-store.. I bought one - and what did it do after opening it? It took up my precious Inv space.. SO I've never bought another and never will while starved of space.
Then there's housing.. Look! More items to find or buy to clog up your inventory!! No thanks.

TLDR; Not having maxed Inv space does NOT mean you don't need more space..

so to end the bafflement of so many-just think about why you or anyone plays games. The whole point and success of games is to do what you can't do in real life. So someone who enjoys decorating but maybe had to do that boring 9 to 5 job in a sterile little cubicle-decorating a house is an outlet that gives them a sense of satisfaction to have a beautiful home they can return to after a tough day of killing monsters ;) Just like going out and beating that challenging boss or living wild n free as a sneaky cat. Or being a vampire or werewolf. et al. It's all about who people are that they can't be in real life. So all opinions are only based on what YOU like to do that you can't do in real life. Everyone is different

Thank you. This states what I've been trying to find a way to articulate for months.

You play games to have fun. You can have fun mastering PvP, or collecting difficult achievements, or farming to make millions on the guild traders, or running heists for the Thieves Guild, or decorating your house.

For me, I enjoy player housing for the same reason I enjoy Minecraft... it lets me build neat things and express my creativity in my own personal environment. I have to work to find resources, which makes what you craft out of those resources all the more satisfying. It's all about long-term projects and that feeling of accomplishment that comes from standing in your finished castle and thinking "I made all of this."

And then, unlike Minecraft, ESO has in a setting I find immersive and fascinating, and I'm playing characters who have personalities and backstories. So, even though the creative tools are weaker than a full sandbox like Minecraft, I'm more invested in it. I'm invested in letting each of my characters decorate their own homes, and their individual pasts, stories, and personalities drive what I'm looking for for each house. Because of that investment, I know this is something that will entertain me for a long time.

So yeah, personally, I find Housing very fun. Not because of what it does for the rest of the game, but because of what it is. That "Barbie's Dreamhouse" feel is why I like it, especially in a game I already enjoy.

If that's not your cup of tea, then there's no need to worry about it. You play the game in the way you most enjoy, and I'll play it in the way I enjoy. The important thing is that we're both having fun. :)
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

    So let me see.....

To CRAFT the Blue and better craftable furnishings you will need a character with almost if not all crafting skills (have to grind a crafting toon up). Who the **** thought that was a good idea? Or you can buy normal furniture items with crowns (400 crowns for a bed....REALLY?)

Then you have to find all the blueprints (I still haven't found all the provisioning recipes yet).

Then if you want a Medium (Classic) size house you will need to either have a Million+ gold (or 4 Million for the largest) or buy/acquire 8,000+ crowns (or more)....

And 3,000 crowns fro a crafting station (or GRIND GRIND GRIND on the utterly wasteful crafting writs).... really.

250,000 gold for one stinkin statue..... really?

This has to be the biggest Money grab I have seen in a MMO yet. And a really sad way to do housing.... such a shame as ZOS put so much work into the housing items and housing itself.

Thumbs down...... horrible implementation. Really Lame ZOS...and I thought SWTOR housing was poorly implemented.
