Loving the housing so far, great job! I got the big Daggerfall Overlook which is awesome but it lacks people! Let us buy and place NPCs: guards, cooks, visiting nobility, bards, a court jester, etc. There is little atmosphere if you create an awesome castle which is completely empty. And you cannot expect your guildies to just dance and sing in your house for your leisure 
This functionality should be super easy to add, its just the same as the way you can place your assistants. I need my castle to feel alive! Give me a bard that welcomes me home with a song. This stuff would sell!

✭✭✭✭✭I agree. It would be great to be able to purchase NPCs to put in our houses. They don't have to be new assistants that provide services like the banker and merchant, I'd be happy with 'cosmetic' NPCs that just perform basic emotes like sweeping, reading etc.

I have a drunk waving his hands around randomly, placed him by a kitchen counter with a smoking grill on top of it, looks like he is making food.
I also have a meditating Jedi student somewhere, and a pacing Jedi master - put the two together it looks like he is giving her a serious talking to.

Well lets be honest given that these are digital assets that only need be "created" once and used endless times the cost in Crowns of pretty much EVERYTHING in the Crown Store and Housing Store is horrendously overpriced.
Heck they are even overpriced in gold - 100 Gold for a stack of 4 logs for the fire!!!

✭Fantastic idea. The only suggestion I would add, is that you should be able to apply the "appearance options" (from the collections tab) to the npcs.
That way you can make a drunk (apply drunk personality), or a guard (apply either the dunmer or armoured knights costume), or make your own pocket of oblivion by applying the various xivkyn polymorphs.
P.s. I often rage against crown store pricing, but customisable npcs ADD value to crown store purchases, and maybe people will buy more cosmetics from the Crown store just to full their house with (for example) duchesses and nobles.#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.1 -

If you want to know why housing items and crown crates will suck, go play SWTOR and try and decorate your stronghold, see how many items are no longer available at all because of RNG boxes in the store being the only way to obtain them.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

This isnt Pokemon... But it would be cool if some of the NPCs can be "friended" after doing a quest for them, and maybe the option into persuading them to your house... where you have the option to intimidate them into your basement after you buy the dungeon furniture set from the crown store, then after intimidating them every day they eventually become your servant, like leveling your riding skills at the stable.2 -

Great idea, as long as there's a way to grind for the ones that provide actual utility. Cosmetic ones, I'm fine paying for with crowns.1 -

It should be the other way around. The "do no harm" approach to in-game stores (an approach ZOS laughably claims to adhere to) is to allow everything that affects gameplay to be achievable through playing, and the stuff that only serves a cosmetic purpose to cost real money.0 -

Can't agree more; this was brought up prior to release too. Having some semblance of life and functionality in these awesome homes is a must.0
