[Bug?] Noticeable damage increase in trials

I just noticed that in trials we are taking a noticeable amount of extra damage, it's not that bad but is this intended?

in vmol all damage was increased, not sure about the others just yet

    Interesting, Have not logged in yet to check but does it seem like an across the board mitigation change as in are the tanks also feeling this or is it only the dps and healers?

    Damage increase? more like weak heals.
    Tank died? not enough heals.
    DPS died? not enough heals.
    healer died? heal yourself you scrub.
    No one died? throw more orbs, im out of magicka :D

    "noticeable amount of extra damage" if you are reporting a bug, this is the wrong area and you need to be more specific.

    define the damage? adds/bosses/mechanics
    video/screenshots(you know they always want proof)

    id log in to check, but yeah the only boss i'm fighting is the update one and its super that corrupt

    Yup. Tank is getting nuked by rakkhat and 8 dps are crying for obs. It's like, "WHY DON'T YOU POP THE ORBS I THROW AND STOP ASKING FOR MORE!"

    Of course I know the answer since I also dps... the orb synergy flashes across the middle of the screen for half a second before vanishing and never coming back as 15 orbs pass through your character's chest unable to be synergized.

    To summarize: ZOS fix synergies, please.

    My fave is when tank calls out rakkhats gatling gun so i can be prepared and the lowest dps in the group screams OMG WHY HASNT AETHER BEEN REAPPLIED, WHERES ELE AND ORBS WTF I HAD TO USE HARNESS....
    Please stfu. Im keeping your tank (and by default you, unfortunately since we cant smart target) alive.

    I can't. Ran vAA last night for that stone atronach bust and it was completely fine. Only died at the beginning with the flame atronachs because stupid me keeps standing in the explosion of 7 dying atronachs. :<

    We didn't make any changes specifically to Trials with the Homestead update. Can you give me an idea of what you are seeing by "increased damage"?

    Feels like we are getting hit harder and mob's are getting hit for less. I think setting is wrong with the way pen is being calculated.. ie. We have less and mob has more etc.

    Things like sharpened weapons and specifically Twice Fangled Serpent do not appear to have any effect.

    @ZOS_Finn When we very first walked into maw or lorkhaj today, it felt like monsters were hitting for an increased amount of damage. I asked around though, some people have been saying they experienced this and others saying they haven't noticed anything.
    For me personally, I noticed when dealing with the physical damage mob types as tanking I took a fair amount of extra damage. And others in group were saying it was magic damage too hitting them quite hard.

    As for Pallio's comment, our outgoing damage is totally fine i think anyway - higher actually.

    Maybe in trials the mobs are affected with the new destro staff passives (increased single target/AOE dmg) instead of players... :smiley:

    Because… no penetration for players, and more damage from mobs… may that means… penetration is inverted ? It would be one of the most hilarious bug since launch xD

    I cant help but notice you qualified your statement with, specifically to trials... So how about over all? Or anywhere are all?

    Mmh, I did a few tests with the training dummy, tested the light attack damage on critical hits (maelstrom weapons, no no proc effects):
    • One with TFS and 0 CPs in armor penetration
    • One without TFS and roughly 5000~ penetration from CPs

    I was getting similar light attack damage.

    Another thing I tested was whether the Minor slayer works on target dummies (3x VO, replace 1x VO by 1x Alkosh to only drop the Minor slayer), and it does.

    I'll report it if I get different results after a raid (can confirm tonight with some luck).

    In pvp damage is so much stronger now. I used to be able to tank 8+ players but now 3 and I die. Death recap shows low numbers but I die faster now than before. We do more damage but we also take more damage.
