I'm sure this had to be talked about already, but we should totally get the option to display stolen items in our house.

Unfair, its not like we will invite guards to our house :)

Yep, being able to display laundered lootables has been a pretty consistent request since Housing was announced last year. A pity that, like mannequins, it wasn't implemented.

To be fair, I do suspect it would take more work on their end than you'd expect. I'm pretty sure next to none of those lootables have a 3D model. They'd need to build a 3D object - mesh, texture, and all - for every single one of those items. And if you're a thief, you know the sheer amount of how many different lootables there are. :D

So yeah. That's a lot of artist and modeler time to spend on part of a free update. So while I agree it'd be cool (SO COOL), I understand why they didn't.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Semantics aside, you deal with a fence for both actions in this game. Would be nice to give some reason to all this stuff other than gold.

For what must be the 26th time now, I don't consider a housing system that doesn't allow me to display the actual looted, stolen, or rewarded items from my adventures to be a valid housing system. It's the only reason I want a house.

If you Fence it - you effectively sell it - its gone from your inventory - nothing to display
If you Launder it - you pay to keep it & its 'clean' - no longer classed as stolen and some items can be displayed in a home.

Is there a list of these?
Also, can they be found anywhere else other than being stolen?

You can find / buy crafting 'recipes' to create your own furniture... as long as you have the mats to do so, without having to resort to theft

The info on stolen furniture items I got from a posting I made on the test server forum.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/316824/has-anyone-found-blueprints-and-crafted-their-own-furniture/p1
a bit ot but can u explain how to recognize a stolen item that can be used as furniture??? seems like i never found one so far..

They will appear in the Furnishings tab of your inventory, here's a tooltip from a stolen furnishing

    NoYkEvh.png

"As of 2.7.4 Pickpocketing seems to have suffered a big drop is chance at Furnishing related items (patterns or furnishings themselves). If you are on the PTS I would avoid Pickpocketing for now...

1000 Pockets picked: 3 furnishing related items (two patterns and 1 furnishing)

In 2.7.3 I did a smaller sample set but out of 200 pockets picked I got 5 furnishing related items."

Just thought I'd give this a bump. This is now at the top of my current wishlist for the game. I'd love to, at a minimum, be able to display my purple laundered items and the ones that are identified as well decor. (I may or may not be sitting on ~120 laundered items in the hopes I can use them in my house one day).

Yeah the actual stolen furniture items are very lackluster.
