Respec Discount?

With all the changes made to the classes why aren't Skill Respecs being offered at least at a discount?

In IC update they were free. When you logged in you had ALL your skill points to use; it was automatic.

Guessing this is a good thing, because I'm greedy. Major money sink, and I can sell golden mats for even more since they'll now be in ultra high demand.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

I would love free, but I am fine with the 1 gold per point one people are saying they did after the original changes at launch.

Anytime they made changes to skills they used to reset everyone's skill points. Some people complained it was too much effort to spend five minutes redoing their skills so they stopped doing it. You can thank the people who complained that there's no skill reset on skill changes now.

Are they the same people that moan about proc sets 1 hitting them in PvP because they aren't running impen and they aren't blocking?

They should still be offering a discounted price for the in game ones for those of us who want to / need to I would think.

But @Kodrac just a couple updates ago they found decent middle ground. The set the respec price to 1 gold per point.. so it was cheap to respec if you wanted - but no one was forced.

    Please cheap respecs. please.

How does that affect crafting research? You need to invest skill points for additional slots and having a 26 day research reset would deserve more than just a little complaining.

    That's why I liked it.

I don't remember all the skills I use across all my characters, certainly not the details of what they do so if I just read the patch notes and then started playing I may miss changes that affect my build. I'd have to go through the patch notes and my skills side by side to match them up.

But because everything was reset I could just go through and make a build based on the new versions of the skills without worrying about what they used to do or what I'd been using before.

Luckily it doesn't, If you respect and put in less points then you had before it still keep the current progress on all, once they were done though you wouldn't be able to do the same amount the next time without the proper points allocation.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Something needs to be done here, its totally unfair to make all these changes and not at least give us a discount respect. I am not one of those people that have all this in game or real money to burn. Half my characters have to be completely redone because the changes screwed them up.

I am not asking for free, but in a case like this at least drop the in game price for a day or two!

Bump. They have previously used an acceptable solution (discounted respec costs for 1 week). The only reasons not to do what they did before is they forgot or they want to drain gold or crowns off people.

As my stam sorc and dk are both needing new skill set ups after the 'balance' patch I am shocked they would forget or be so underhanded (depending on the reason it isn't offered).

Yeah, I'm throwing my hat in the "I had assumed they'd at least discount them" ring. They legit changed the order in some skill lines. I have low level alts who no longer have access to all their skills because of this. I shouldn't need to pay full price for a respec to rework how these characters play. :/

    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

For some one with as many stars as you have I see no reason for Snark, unless that is how you got all those stars.

Also, as some one else pointed out on the thread, we were told around the launch of One Tam that a "Lower Cost" Respec was coming when they did the next major balancing update, which I believe this is. (currently looking for the actual statement)

Eh, I was out of hand. I do apologize, no need to bring more toxicity here after today's launch.

They may have said respecs were to be discounted. I know they dropped the price down during a previous update launch, they were 1 gold per skill point I think.

    Either I best of luck.

@BlackSparrow I had a friend this happened to last update. With some patience, you can likely contact support and get them to send you the crowns for a respec scroll. Be advised, it took my friend quite a few back and forth replies before anything actually got done.

This is a VERY good reason why we should be getting cheap respecs.
