Benefit of being in a guild? Why should I join one?

Hi,
I've been playing this game since before it was released in 2014 and have been part of a couple of guilds, usually just because someone's character asked me to. But I really haven't seen any benefit. When I go to Guild Traders they never seem to have anything there. So I'm not clear why I should be in a guild. This is the first MMORPG I've played so there are probably some things I don't know.
Thanks for your help,

Guild trader (provided you're in a good trade guild)
Easier time (in theory) getting a group together for Vet dungeons
    You're lonely.

Guild ports for areas you haven't gotten to yet, especially helpful on alts who aren't as well travelled.

Multiple reasons and for multiple things:

Trading / Money - Guild Trader to sell your stuff
PvE - To find regular Dungeon groups and capable Trial groups to run with
PvP - To find Daily PvP groups to PvP alongside
RP - To find an RP group to play with on a regular basis
Social - Friends to talk to.
