Different back up weapons or not?

I am a tank and I use sword and shield, but I hardly see any tank using two hand as back up now so should I go with something else? My suggestion is sword and shield for both my main and back up.

Depends on class, I'd say. I used dual wield as a backup for a 1h/shield sorcerer tank

Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank

I ALWAYS use double s&b, so when I switch bars I can always keep 2 5 piece bonuses and never drop block
    • Yubarius - Magicka NB - Flawless Conqueror
    • YubariusX - Magicka Warden - Flawless Conqueror
    • Lord Yubarius - Stamina Sorc - Stormproof - Centurion
    • 'Rubick the Grand Magus - Magicka Sorc
    • Fair Child Tank - Stamina DK

If two handed is working for you then I say stick with two handed. Some people may get in of a bit tizzy over it, but that's their problem. What matters as a tank is whether or not you can keep the boss's attention and stay alive while sustaining severe head trauma. Doesn't really matter whether you use a sword and shield or a tennis racket as long as you can still do that job.

I preferred One-Hand & Shield on both bars, but there are times when I put Dual Wield on my second bar in the event I need some DPS. Was tanking in Fungal Grotto II and we were struggling to kill the Shades on the boss (the boss where a player is chained down).

Switching to my second bar (Dual Wield) allowed me to assist in killing the Shades. This don't always work sometimes, because if the DPS are really low, I run low on Stamina trying to help them.

Sadly, some players hate when you try to give them advice; I asked the Templar players (we had two) for Shards, but I was told to "focus on tanking". At that point, needless to say, 6 to 7 wipes later and I gave up.

    Yep!

We had a Sorcery player queue up as tank. Using Inner Fire and kiting, he was doing great. The only issue we had is that he was kiting TOO much, causing us melee players to switch to our Bows. Unfortunately for me, my Bow was only Lv7, so our dps dropped.

But what about PvP? I have seen more successful two handed warriors wiping entire armies while one handed and shield doesvery little in those situations.
