making PVP more interesting

Hey folks,
first of all: this is not a rage thread about dominating alliances or players. Its a personal observation and some thoughts on some problems that make PVP unattractive for many players.

1) campaign-maps
One of the most depressing situations for PVPers is to log into your campaign and see the whole map has just one colour. (People who log in to Trueflame, EU before 11 AM have been having this experience daily for the last 6 weeks.) Many players instantly leave again, others are deeply frustrated because playing ponysimulator for 2 hours just to turn the map into something playable again is not very attractive.

So my idea: Reset the campaign map each day 2 hours before primetime back to a "neutral state": All alliances should own their homekeeps and scrolls and players could start on even turns. This should not reset the campaign leaderbord - every point earned for your alliance should still be there until the campaign ends - but it would give people a good reason to come and stay instead of run away when the map looks terrible.

2) emperors
Emperors have many boni - and they have worked hard for it and deserved them. But once a player makes emp, it's almost impossible for anybody else in his alliance to take over because the emperor will earn more AP than any other player (unless he's a total idiot, ofc, or takes a break). Again, this reduces attractivity for many PVPers.

Instead: While being emperor, a player should not earn APs for the leaderboard. He should still earn them for himself and he could still remain emperor for days and weeks if he manages to defend his keeps. But once he looses his throne, chances should be high that someone else is "next in line" for emperorship. This would give top players additional incentive to strife for the number one, and normal players would see more and different emperors and possibly even different guilds supporting them.

Constructive comments are appreciated!

(And I'm way too lazy to ever make emp, so this is not an ego-thread  )

like the second part with the emp should kinda work that way, But the reset every day 2 hours to whose prime time? east coast? west coast? Just won't work that way just would kill the idea of defending keeps.

Emperor is interesting and seems kinda cool. But your other idea in strickly against. Map shouldnt be netural giving everyone a fair chance. If you want your keeps and scrolls back, you gotta earn them. Also wouldnt work with your emperor idea, too easy to lose emp when you only have two keeps.

I'd like to see the map rotate at reset. So all 3 alliance can start in different sections of the map, instead of defending the same home keeps week in, week out.

That wouldn't make a lot of sense considering the fact Morrowind is to the North East of Cyrodill, AD's lands are to the south of Cyrodill and High Rock is to the North West. Each alliance is where they are for a reason.

    Edited for spelling.

What is bad about giving everybody a fair chance? PVP is dying, more and more campaigns are being closed down because people stay away. Night- or morningcapped maps are not the only reason for people leaving, but they ARE a reason.

Just join DC or EP in Trueflame, EU (PC), read zonechat and you'll get an idea about the amount of frustration. People do not login to Cyrodiil to "earn back their keeps and scrolls" which were lost when nobody was online. They want to PVP, and when they see the map, a lot of them find more interesting things to do than ressource-PVE and ponysimulator.
