Hey folks,
first of all: this is not a rage thread about dominating alliances or players. Its a personal observation and some thoughts on some problems that make PVP unattractive for many players.
1) campaign-maps
One of the most depressing situations for PVPers is to log into your campaign and see the whole map has just one colour. (People who log in to Trueflame, EU before 11 AM have been having this experience daily for the last 6 weeks.) Many players instantly leave again, others are deeply frustrated because playing ponysimulator for 2 hours just to turn the map into something playable again is not very attractive.
So my idea:
Reset the campaign map each day 2 hours before primetime back to a "neutral state": All alliances should own their homekeeps and scrolls and players could start on even turns. This should not reset the campaign leaderbord - every point earned for your alliance should still be there until the campaign ends - but it would give people a good reason to come and stay instead of run away when the map looks terrible.
2) emperors
Emperors have many boni - and they have worked hard for it and deserved them. But once a player makes emp, it's almost impossible for anybody else in his alliance to take over because the emperor will earn more AP than any other player (unless he's a total idiot, ofc, or takes a break). Again, this reduces attractivity for many PVPers.
Instead:
While being emperor, a player should not earn APs for the leaderboard. He should still earn them for himself and he could still remain emperor for days and weeks if he manages to defend his keeps. But once he looses his throne, chances should be high that someone else is "next in line" for emperorship. This would give top players additional incentive to strife for the number one, and normal players would see more and different emperors and possibly even different guilds supporting them.
Constructive comments are appreciated!
(And I'm way too lazy to ever make emp, so this is not an ego-thread

)
