Morrowind Collector's Edition vs Collector's Edition Upgrade price, unfair?

I don't think I have ever pre ordered a game and it not been cheaper at some point before release. That's why I used to pre order from Amazon as you get the lowest price if it fluctuates. No longer pre order anything because of the amount of shite that gets released nowadays. As Morrowind is retailing for the same as I would expect to pay for a normal AAA title, I won't be pre ordering it.

Also, too many games being released I want to play in the coming months too. Mass Effect, Horizon, Nioh etc.

That can't be right, where did you get these prices?

The NOK prices on Steam are 679kr for the CE Upgrade and 340kr for the regular Upgrade.

Addendum: Gamestop is selling the physical non-CE box at 650kr.

Pretty sure he meant that the CE upgrade is more expensive than the CE base game + Morrowind.

I refuse to believe that's intended, and zos need to look at it if that's the case. It doesn't make sense at all.

I just saw that the CE Upgrade is a tiny bit cheaper if you buy it on steam.

69,99€ on steam.
73,82€ on the official site.

Always rounding up the prices so it looks neater in local currencies. For once it's actually to my advantage that steam refuses to convert to local currencies.

But there is no info about the pre-order stuff being included.

That kinda sounds like a mistake. The USD prices (I just checked) are $79.99 for the digital collector's edition, $59.99 for the upgrade. For the non-collector's version, the base release costs $59.99, while the non-CE upgrade is $39.99. So $39.99 for Morrowind, $20 for the base game, and $20 for the CE content.

You might want to poke @ZOS_GinaBruno, or someone else from the Community Relations team and check to see if something got derped up.

Ah, ok it looks like I misunderstood because not only are the prices different between currencies (which makes sense) but the difference in price between versions also changes.

That definitely looks like something is not right.

I'm guessing they somehow mixed up the numbers when converting it into different currencies. It wouldn't be the first time that happened (for a short time the website store was saying 180 days of ESO plus was free in the UK - literally listed £0.00 with the terms and conditions on the same page stating you pay what's shown immediately and all sales are final. (I didn't get it but only because I knew I'd have to argue the point when they inevitably corrected the mistake and I couldn't be bothered doing that, I'm pretty sure they would have had to honour their contract in the same way I would if the mistake had been in their favour.)

Prices for crowns and ESO Plus have also been known to random change for just 1 version or just 1 currency. But it's especially bad to have mistakes in the expansion pricing.

People tend to forget 2 things here:

1. Those who already got the base game (like I do) including the DLC's got screwed anyway. If you buy the game now you get the base-game with DLC's for the same price I bought the base game without the DLC's. Thats the way how the world works guys. Prices fluctuate.

2. The price-difference between USD and Euro is easy to explain: the currency exchange-rates are never ever exactly 1:1. So its really hard for international sellers to make a price that is equal in every country they want to sell their products. Edit: same goes for the other foreign currency's outside the US.

So lets stop complaining about it. Either buy it, or dont buy it.

P.S. I preordered the Physical CE for €100.

Since ESO:Morrowind can be run as a stand alone game it is not just DLC for ESO:One Tamriel.
