question about preordering the morrowind expansion collector's edition..

hi, I have a question about the new upcoming expansion.. I wanted to buy the physical collector's edition of the morrowind chapter, but I have the digital copy of the original game for xbox one, I was wondering if that means whenever I want to play, do I access the game through the digital copy of the original game I have on my xbox or do I have to use the morrowind disc from now on? Only asking bc I never played an MMO on my xbox before, if it were pc or even ps4 with FFXIV, i simply register my account with the cd key on the website and download the expansion to the ps4 or pc without ever using the disc inside the physical copy of the game, I want to know bc I prefer using digital on my xbox so if I have to use the disc, i would just preorder the digital only copy however I really want that collector's edition too so want to know for sure before I preorder which version.. thanks

You would be playing from the new Morrowind disc. ESO has already gone through a couple of versions already - original release tomtamriel unlimited, then to gold...the discs with new content replace the old one, the system integrates everything and downloads any patches, then you're good to go.

But that brings up an interesting question. Sometimes I play my account at my friend's house. So what happens if I buy Morrowind and play it a while, but he does not and I go to play my guys there? Would the game just open the content to me like it would DLCs, or would I be locked out of all Morrowind areas? If I had a Warden character would he load on my friends system?
