No terrible idea, I like things the way they are.
Get rid of add-ons, and I'll be on board.

Or just don't buy machines of which the manufacturer limits the capabilities of running software on purpose.

Would be fun but I can't see Sony and Microsoft allowing it. As far as I know they only allow cross-play between their platform + pc. Old Shadowrun, Gears of War 4, and Paragon are some games that come to mind.

But aren't ESO in a sense already cross platform? I thought Windows and MAC played together.

You only need so much CPU to run Microsoft word. Also PC is incredibly limiting when it comes to gaming. A great amount of games that I enjoy aren't on PC. I also find addon's to be comical. The mini map is a nice feature; however, having add-ons to tell you when your ult is ready, when your potion is ready, when to CC break, when your opponent is in execute range, and when to cleanse is a joke. If console ever gets to that point I'll stop playing.

Consoles, doubtful. They would never get the two to agree.
Xbox and PC maybe, as they are similar technology anyway. It may be possible as Fable legends was going to be cross platform before it was cancelled. However, the question remains, is it what people want. I am not so sure.

Paragon is PC and PS4 cross-platform. Sony has no problems doing the cross-platform thing with PC.

But yeah, it's usually one or the other with PC. It's a shame that the console landscape is so fragmented.

Ever since One Tamriel merged all three factions into the same instance cases of Lag and Crashes have risen due to the higher volume of players clumped together. If you add in all the PC players into that, the game would be a nightmare.

But, the vet zones before 1 tamriel were really boring. I could go hours without seeing any chat in zone.

PC needs to stay querentened on it;s own island.

Bring on XBOX for pvp though, would be stellar!

Because playing without "block now" and "cleanse now" handholding would be impossible right?

The only reason FF14 works cross platform is because SE knows what they're doing.

ZOS have proven to be barely able to keep this game from full system failure. I'd imagine cross platform play would outright melt the mega servers entirely

On the one hand it'd be nice to see even more folk in game.

On the other console players would struggle to keep up with the expectations of PC players (Add ons, etc...)

Oh and then there's this mysterious 'lag' I see everyone complain about but have never experienced myself.

Oh what a bunch of BS. I play with a controller on PC, and I know many other players who do as well (including some well-known streamers). And we've never had any problem holding our own in Trials, PvP, or any other aspect of the game. People just think that a mouse is so great because they're used to playing with one. Even if it did give you more precision, that would only matter in a FPS, not an MMO. I've never once seen a player do anything with a mouse in ESO that I couldn't do just as well with a controller.

I think this would be an amazing idea. But could probably never happen. Zeni couldn't pull it off.
To console players saying add ons will give unfair advantage, I have this to say - the average player on pc feels the same as on console, in a pvp sense. I can use no add ons and enjoy the same level of success I did on xbox easily.

No addons or console should also get addons.
And I don't know why there would be a server overload? They still have the same amount of servers.

    You can have your opinion.

But the vast majority of MMO players are in favor of addons. They have always been a valuable part of the gaming experience and hopefully always will be.

It is your own fault that you play on a restricted platform that allows no freedom and customization. Consoles are like gaming dictatorships ! :p

Paragon (a MOBA that is much more competitive than ESO PVP) is cross-platform. PS4 players have the same win-rates and KDAs as PC players.

I'm a PC gamer, but to argue that we have any kind of significant advantage in this game is silly. Add-ons are the only thing that might give us an advantage.

The vast majority of players also play causally, and are opposed to difficult content; so the fact that they want to play with add-ons doesn't really surprise me.

OR they allow addons on the XBO. add a UI customization section in the settings. all addons for PC would go through a conversion process just like Fallout and Skyrim did when mods were implemented.
